I don’t recall AZ ever renegading Nas on a track…

    ^^
“Renegaded” is a strong word. But as mentioned, peep the Firm album, and How Ya
Livin, I think it’s pretty undeniable that AZ’s bars were simply stronger.

^I don’t know. They were even on How Ya Livin. The reason I think they made some great music together is cause they never sound like they’re competing IMO. They just do what they do and feed off each other. I’ll definately have to revisit that Firm album though…

  131. b-ease Says:

Life’s a Bitch, Mo Money More Murder, Phone Tap…They’ve done alot of concepts together.

I can concede that. Still think AZ has a doper prescence on those tracks, and with the exception of Pieces of a Man, AZ for dolo kinda bores me. He clearly steps it up in Nas’ prescence, and Nas kind of falls back. Not spitting wack at all by any means, just letting his man shine.

  132. cOLD Says:

There’s no inherent logic in that fam.

^ this is the first I’ve ever heard anyone one say AZ renegaded Nas… the logic is if this were true it would be a known fact and spoken on more often. Not only that but A would still be buzzing right now.

  133. hl Says:

Life’s a bitch wouldn’t had been what it was, had it not been for A.

^You might have a point. I would really have to go back and listen to all their collabs.

  137. cOLD Says:

^ I kinda see this too ever since lifes a bitch, he let A shine in his lane, and Nas does what he does. Good chemistry.

… but since where on the subject, every time the topic comes up about Nas working with A in the future, he (Nas) kinda skirts around the subject, and never answers directly. There was def a fall out, but over what?

  138. b-ease Says:

Not only that but A would still be buzzing right now.

    ^^
Let’s be honest, Nas ain’t even really buzzing right now. And more importantly, as much as we as hiphop heads hate to admit, AZ never radiated much star power even when he was dropping insane bars. That’s got alot to do with his overall perception as well.

  139. cOLD Says:

It’s never been elaborated on, but in an interview in the early 00’s Fox said her and AZ refere to Nasir as the “snake”. It’s probably just an extension of the Shane shit Prodigy was saying. Nas seems inclined to be aloof, wishy washy, and maybe even kind of petty.

^ true its a tough climate out there for cat’s… them 90’s niggas who never redefined themselves are becoming more and more desperate. And it seems as though since ya man Rae put out the part 2, everyone thinks they can follow suit.

FTR: you all lost for obviously sleeping on everything AZ has dropped since Pieces of a Man. i mean, compared to 1/4 of the shit you guys so vehemently cosign on this ish, AZ is easily God status. it’s all good though. you guys stay distracted by the “pretty packaging” (ie: everything released by Sony BMG, DefJam, Interscope, Badboy, RocNation, etc. . .). real recognize real. some entertainers are much better actors than others. it’s simply impossible to comprehend if you’ve never dealt with that side of life though. either way, it’s not your fault. so on and so on.. .

I never feel the need to validate MY opinion, but in this case it’s pretty easy.Stillmatic sounds waaay better than Illmatic in 2010.Illmatic is a classic but that doesn’t make it untouchable. Front to back I would much rather hear Stillmatic these days. Anybody who feels otherwise, hey that’s why it’s called opinion.
