Why are some of y’all judging Recovery on it’s first listen? You have to hear a album at least 3 times before you can have a verdict. When I first heard TML I thought it was ok but now I think it’s a great cd.
I’m sorry, but this song is just CORNY all around. When I hear that sample (Haddaway?) I just burst out laughing. Plus that singing hook is terrible. I’m just laughing at how badly put together this is.
It seems like Eminem has a made a point to get the “hottest” rapper in the game on a track and ether him to prove his point
shades of Hov on American Gangster…..got Recovery sitting on the external HD, is it really worth listening to tonight? always been an Em fan, but Relapse, while full of lyrical skill and some of Dr. Dre’s better decent work, just doesn’t have the same replay value as his first three LPs
Eminem has gone on record as saying Paper Trail was one of his favorite recent albums so that’s no shock, and garbage truck juice? Yeah, there were some pop joints but I fail to see how What’s Up, What’s Happenin, Ready For Whatever, Swagger Like Us, On Top Of The World, I’m Illy, No Matter What, 56 Barz, You Ain’t Missin’ Nothin’, etc. constitute garback truck juice
after hearing Muddy Swim Trunks, i went and downloaded, Asher Roth – “Seared Foie Gras With Quince And Cranberry” mixtape… i fronted on that joint cause that shit smokes… he ripped some classic beats there… i originally ignored it cause i got thrown off by the gayness of the mixtape title and by the gayness of Asher himself… but id rather hear Asher rap than Marshall any day… Asher has way more natural soul to his flow ….
A full-fledged Diplomats reunion was supposed to in the cards at Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert last night (June 6) at the New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey, but forces beyond the Harlem crew’s control denied them the opportunity, according to Dipset’s own Freekey Zeekey.
“There’s no such thing as a half reunion,” Freekey told XXLMag.com backstage, with Cam’ron just a couple of feet away. “What happened is they didn’t let Jim in. I told Jim and Juelz we’ll meet up at the after party. [Jim’s] banned from, like, 90% of the venues in the tri-state area.”
Eminem didn’t lose a step lyrically on the album, but it felt a little lazy in parts. He has topics to talk about but it’s like he went through his Kanye 808’s and Heart break phase without the autotune and the good melody’s. He actually just threw any hook on some of these songs and spit to them. It’s inspiring though it shows lyrics can hold you down, he must have felt personal about some of these songs.
