Video: Jay-Z – Dynasty Intro (Live in Germany)

Jay did one of those songs you seldom hear at his live shows as a show opener yesterday at Rock Am Ring 2010 in Germany. I don’t think the crowd even understood what he was treating them to.

The volume is a bit low, but you can listen to his full set here, via Amajanese. Props to YN.

And look at us now, see where we’ve come, see where people like Jay have come? I think there’s a lot of elders that aren’t feeling too good about themselves right now. You should never turn your back on youth, ’cause when you do, we wind up taking over anyway.” (All Hip Hop)
Nas also recently talked about Jay’s ability to habitually remind emcees of his domination in rap.

“[Jay-Z] is the one that smacks everybody in the face that’s out there and wanted to say what he wasn’t and what he couldn’t do. The challenge is that people always count you out and even when you have a hit record and put out a hit album, you’re gonna have people dissing you. I think he’s showing you: I won’t be stopped ever. And that’s motivation for everyone else.”

I’m not saying he should try to sing or anything, but delving into his own psyche and rationalizing his whole persona (flaws & all) would be alot more compelling then anything on BP3. The coldness in that line is tangible. Explaining the journey that made him that way would be ill.
