  6. Bx Blue Says:

Blackroc 1 was a bit of a dissapointment. And I like the Black Keys, but they need to diversify the MC list if they make pt. 2. Plus they need to bar Jimmy and MOP from the studio.

  8. strongarm Says:

your use of b-ease’s joke is derivative, subpar and lacking in content. your analysis of music is confused and uninformed. if you were a rapper you would be one of them niggas you claim to hate.

you clearly dont understand the music and frankly you are out of your league if you want to intellectually tangle with me. so here some advice: listen to music before commenting. you might actually have something to add.
    ^^^^^^
Stop trying to play smart with your amassed unread dictionary.com word of the day email. b-ease wasn’t the first nigga to say mandingos. stop dickriding niggas going in on your wifey. What does what kind of rapper I’d possibly be have to do with these niggas being wack? And you’re right, clearly I don’t understand the music as in, I don’t understand how anyone could find these niggas any good. I sincerely doubt a “man” who feels rawse is a good rapper is at all prepared for an intellectual debate, which this is nowhere near being. This is 50% hating/shit talking, and 50% stating an opinion.

Smh @ the shots at Dame. For one, I always thought Dame was a fly dude and stayed within the trends. Just because you get older doesn’t mean you have to stop being trendy. And Jay-Z rocks the same kinda big ass glasses.

As for his business moves, why would he want to do the same thing twice? It’s impossible to “make another Hove” as we all know. But it IS possible to find somebody who already has their own lane and help them get to the forefront. People don’t realize how much marketing dollars was put into “making” the Hove that yall see now. With these current acts, like Curren$y, these young dudes have already found their lane and he’s just providing a new kinda forum for them to all meet and make dope music. There’s not ONE artist on Roc Nation that’s better than anybody who has recorded music for the 24 Hour Karate School session with Skibeatz. JayElec, Curren$y, Stalley, Cool Kids, Wiz, and even might I say (God forbid) Tabi bonney makes better music than the dudes Jay are cosigning. @ b-ease – That’s what I been saying. Blackroc had so much fuckin potential that it was sad when it fell flat. The Black Keys are dope but I think they needed another breed of MC then what Dame put together. If RZA was in control rather then Dame then I think the CD would be much more solid.

@ D.Billz – I agree with you for the most part. My comments on Dame had NOTHING to do with clothing; I’m not sure why everyone is running with that. I agree that no one on Roc Nation is fucking with anyone from the 24 Hour Karate School movement. But that has more to do with Ski then Dame. On the other hand, Stalley is fucking garbage. Trash rap at its worst.

^I see. I think Stalley is decent. I liked the solo joint on Creative Control and his verse with Curren$y on “Address”. Ski fucks with Dame heavy and Dame orchestrated the whole movement. I just hope they finally drop the fuckin’ album.

And I’m anticipating that Curren$y album too. The tracks are soundin’ RIDIC so far.

I’ll try to not ramble, lol. Hiphop reached a level in the late 80s, with Chuck, Ra, Cube etc where Black Pride became the “in” mentiality for black youth popular culture. This inspired things like Boyz in the Hood, The TV show South Central, etc. The powers that be saw this. Enter: the chronic. Suddenly, rap on MTV isnt relegated to YoMTVraps, the only thing is, the rap they’re showing is destructive. By positing this as what’s cool, black pride becomes corny. And despite valiant attempts by some artists, the power of the controllers to keep “gangsta” rap at the forefront makes it impossible to bring this back. When was the last time we had a Do The Right Thing? They’re all tied together. Unfortuanely, hiphop was co-opted, and was drained of its ability to truly create positive change. Window closed.
