Video: Drake Interview w/ the.LIFE Files

Drizzy spoke to J.D. at Legacy Studios last night during a private listening session that Gee & Tez held for Thank Me Later in New York.

In this candid moment with the rapper, Drake says he’s honestly not sweating the leaks because people are excited about the album and also reveals that after the second leg of his tour, and inevitable acting opportunities, he plans on starting to record his second album ASAP.

After the jump, a YMCMB update from label presidents Birdman and Mack Maine.

This and It’s Been a Pleasure (which should have been an outro to TML) would have been great on TML. This as in the Drake+Nipsey version.

Drake was throwing hundreds instead of ones.

It’s Been A Pleasure & Killers along with Money To Blow, Mo Milly, Play Ball, The Fear…dude gave away too many freebies.

How the fuck is Mack Maine president of anything?

  6. Shooter Says:

Probably for the best, if Power is any indication of the album’s tone/quality.
    ^^^

word Power was a disappointment on many levels

Yea, those are the type of bangers that I’m hearing Thank Me Later really doesnt have any of. He def shoudlve held on to one of them.

An msnbc.com poll of 100 urologists, conducted by Truth On Call, showed that 30 percent of the doctors had seen or treated pre-teen and teen boys for testicular trauma in the past year, including severe injuries caused by so-called “sack-tapping,” in which boys ambush others at school and elsewhere.

Most of those injuries were caused during sports or by accidents involving bicycles or skateboards, a review of cases reveals. But a growing number have been caused by so-called games known variously as “sack-tapping,” “nut tag,” or “Roshambo,” after a 1998 episode of the animated series “South Park” that popularized the painful practice.

Most young victims don’t want to admit they’ve participated, willingly or not.

Yeah all those except Fear. I knew that wasn’t going on the album because he said Fear was the outro for So Far Gone EP and the end of that song would be the beginning of Fireworks. Dope song nonetheless.

or is it like how Cudi can “act”

  14. Mook Says:

Funny did y’all know that So Far Gone EP sold more than Before I Self Destruct?
    L O L 50’s done.

  15. bkallday Says:

drake look nervous after the reviews..added that freestyle real quick..
    hype can kill..

  16. Rome Says:

He gave away so much material from free, its only right that those fans that bumped his music for the past 2 years should support him.

If I was him, I’d be pissed if I didn’t hit Plat in a week.

  17. Bicro Says:

    Drake: Smuggest rapper alive

  18. Billy Boom Says:

I agree w/Rome. Homie gave MAD tracks away. & ALL bangers. TML gotta do that. …for hiphop. & honestly “its about a catalog”, like the god Nas said. U think druzzy real gives two shits about free music given away etc etc??

He does it for the real fans anyways ..& at them concert the hits r performed.
In 10 years when real artists stand on stage, while the DJ pays hit after hit after hit, all they can do is smile. Albums dont even matter then, cuz even the haters (who r closet fans) gotta be like ..WOW, ssmh nah homie had Hitz.

    congrats boi
