I’m a bit baffled. That Not Afraid song is pretty lame. Why it is number one on the billboard charts? Eh those lists are full of bullshit.
    ———————————————————–

There’s not really anything subjective about the charts….so it’s not really BS. “Men lie, women lie..”

That said I’m surprised so many people liked that song. Em’s audience is still one that consists of a lot of people who aren’t heads, so it’s harder to predict it anyway.

Who the fuck is this guy? Juan Cole?

  3. KzA Says:

    fuck miss info…

Shes always trying to stand up for stupid shit… I thought that Amanda Diva shit was corny.. but the last straw was her mini-tirade at the Nah Right showcase over everyone boo-ing da jewmane… The whole crowd pretty much told her to shut the F up (c) 22-2

Anybody on that list of RocNation artist other than Cole rap, or are they all singers and shit???

but men & women also lie about the numbers they accumulate, and how they go about accumulating them…

that “men lie women lie numbers dont” statement is so assinine … but niggas blindly ran with it …

    *shrugs*

Jay probably could give a damn about what happens to Roc-A-Fella but he can’t be too happy with Dame running that ship again…i mean he went through so much trouble of commandeering that label from Dame from that process having him blackballed (unintentionally or otherwise)…which he ended up selling to DefJam for 20million which is a lot of coin obviously but still….was it really all worth it…

Has there ever been proof of labels buying albums? Is that illegal?

    ^^^

    Probably not, and no.

Labels sell them to the stores that carry them, it’s how artists go Gold in a week, they sell ’em to Best Buy or whatever, then count the sales. What people talk about in terms of labels buying albums is buying them back.

“We bought 100,000 copies of Thank Me Later and only sold 12. Give us our money back.” The label then “buys them back”, but the shipped number still counts towards platinum/gold or whatever.

(at least I think that’s how it works. some mailroom guy could just go down to fuckin’ Record Town and buy up all the copies of Boogie Bear Raps)

Wow – I was having a conversation with someone about sampling this last week.

*dead* at dude’s face during the flute solo (ll) he was thinking that he would be swimming in pussy on tour off the strength of that 16.

Jay probably could give a damn about what happens to anyone but Tah Tah and Larry JohnsonRoc-A-Fella

    *fixed

  16. landlord Says:

    Is that illegal?

    ——-

of course not… how can you monitor and enforce it anyway…

whats to stop an label exec from cutting a check to someone(s) to make it happen… or they could just cut a check to whoever keeps tally, to coerce them say they sold whatever… entertainment industry execs stay scratching each others’ backs accordingly… favors are abundant … thats why you see so many odd alliances and switching allegiances in the industry… cause its based on economics and not any business or brand loyalty… they all basically working together in the big picture anyway if you trace all these labels heads and distributors up to the top of their food chains …
