without Puffie Combs holding his hands, Biggie would have been the overweight neighborhood weed man …
***without Biggie, Puff would be playing small venues in “remember when” tours with Craig Mack on college campuses- Puffy was able to use his Biggie affiliation as proof that he was some kind of prodigy, and he was able to milk (none) Biggie’s passing to brighten his own star…”Best friend?” Really? Nigga knew him for like 2, 3 yrs…

Rey you ought to flesh that out into something longer
Biggies relevance remains BECAUSE he’s dead… and his death, and the circumstances arround his death were so sensational…. when Biggie was alive almost NO ONE was saying he was GOAT…
his influence is overrated… niggas over 30 know that biggie’s flow was already fathered … he just ran with it … but he was definitely top 5 or Ten
dont get me wrong im not saying Big was wack or not great… but he was pushed hard on us no homo… the badboy marketing, media and press machine was incredible… bigggie was dope, but top 2?… i cant see that

And in death, BIG is more relevant than a still breathing Rakim.
DAMN…. the truth in that statement hurt my heart(nh).
***I almost cried (no nahggers listening to 2Pac), when i got an e-mail saying that Ra was playing some club called “the Crazy Donkey”, or some shit like that, in Long Island…SMH…Ra did more for hip hop by 1987, than most “legendary” niggas do in entire careers…

GOAT should be awarded to an artist who has excelled commercially, artistically, stylistically, along with having a powerful influence and inspire people to follow trends they start…
^it’s actually blacker than that. the GOAT represents the most modern technique of freedom for the latter day black man or woman. He embodies that spirit has been passed through all the great africans throughout history. hiphop doesnt just set trends, it demands freedom at all costs.
I think RTD is better that LAD. Ready is the perfect autobiography to his life no rapper ever kept it that real. anyone ever peep Bigger than Life docu, or the other Notorious docs. They are true to every lyric he spit on RTD. That has to be considered one if not the best albums in history! IMO
Mo Money Mo problems didnt change the game (for better or worse)?? The double time flow on Notorious Thugs (which no east coast rapper did before, and what every east coast rapper has done since), the first R.Kelly hook on a rap album, which in turn led to hundreds more? Final song as suicide note? West coast exagerrated “gangsta” persona spliced with East Coast lyricism?
