So many people doo doo on Wale, you would think he did something to them personally,
or that he was just terrible.

OH get the fuck out. these niggas too sweet like a pack of twix

  8. Fresh Huxtable Says:

@Nov: I’ve not met him or paid enough attention to him to know whether he’s arrogant or not. But let me ask, is he arrogant, or is he just DMV, DC specifically? Because that’s a unique swagger all it’s own.

But one great mixtape, one good mixtape, and a decent album is not too shabby at this point in the career, IMO. It’s more than I’ve done musically, personally.

Wale is garbage! Even DC niggaz don’t like him

  12. Hopp Says:

But, with some people here, it definitely has to do with his music … I’ve seem some comparisons and people just don’t seem to enjoy Wale songs at all.

  13. hl Says:

@Fresh, I think the Wale hate comes from him going from being a pretty good rapper…to not being able to put together a listenable verse in a matter of 6 months.

to be honest, I liked Takin Em To the Cleaners far more

  16. Big_seth Says:

Y’all still hatin on Wale. LMAO.

He has a sense of entitlement that bothers me a lil, but he is pretty good as an MC and makes good music.

    I like his music.

  17. the-xfacta Says:

Wale is a fucking corn muffin.. On one song he says Jay-Z is his favorite rapper then the next track he says “Shout out to Black Thought, my favorite rapper in the world”.. Huh?

  18. oh4werd Says:

@Hopp – i have not heard none of his new shit past AD but that cd was not as bad as ppl make it out to be. That song shades was good prescription and a few others…that song wit lady gaga def. goes down in history as one of the WORST songs ever in my book tho so he loses credability wit that

    ^^

A decent hip hop debut album is hard to reach these days. And he has some pretty risky songs there.

  21. cOLD Says:

that ciroc got diddy talking way slick.

  22. Fresh Huxtable Says:

@Hl and Embark: your points are valid.

I guess because I know very little about Wale personally, the other criticisms about him have been eh to me. But yeah, it would seem like he hasn’t quite lived up to his potential.

I hear that, but you know the deal … 1st single, gotta hit the radio. Numerous examples in hip hop show us that he could have done a lot worse on the 1st single (and a lot better also, let’s be clear)

But I don’t blame you for not listening to any of his new shit. Unfortunely, he ain’t releasing songs like Family Affair anymore. Let’s see how that goes …
