Up top they do Exhibit C and Jay takes the time to thank Just for giving him such a momentous song. After the jump, Justin blacks out on the drums for “Show Me What You Got.”

  5. The Shot Clock Says:

if you wanted to simply say that dude is not original enough, then you would have just said that. throwing in Drake and Cudi’s names served no purpose unless you were holding them in a higher regard, which you were shown by using them in conjunction with the word “original”.

    ^

what was actually being implied was that J. Cole is too close image wise/style wise to Cudi and Drake.

together them two niggas got the young, light skin, hipster thing locked (n). Cole may be more of a throwback but still, he’s not standout enough to maintain any sort of mainstream stature as long as those two are around. plus he’s a sidekick (Camel) which never bodes well if you’re trying to make it…especially if your mentor has demonstrated time and again that he doesn’t like niggas on his team gettin too big (n).

Signing to Jay has proven to be career suicide, even if it aint always his fault the shit just doesnt end good for niggas.

WTF???? Jay signed the nigga, you don’t think at THIS point in his career he could give a fuck about one HIS artist threating HIS legacy??? That nigga got like half a billon dollars. And the musical landscape at even set up the same way for another rapper to get on Jays level (No Stan). But the days on Multi-plat, point of purchase albums are done. FOH!!!!!!

Except for Kanye West. But then again, Ye hit big while Jay was retired.

That said, Roc-A-Fella spawned some great mid-level stars, even if that was as far as any non-Jay-Z member could go.

Never mind, my post had no point on second read.

  18. mcb Says:

maybe the hate is because hes another one signed by Jay-Z.
    we know the lsit

maybe subconciously Jay fans and Jay stans don’t want cole to be that nice. doubtful but just thinking out loud.

Nah the Ye thing makes sense, but i think Dame was the one who actually believed in Kanye enough to get College Dropout out there. That said the more i hear these niggas stories (Peedi, Beans) the more i think that while Jay can be grimy them niggas be completely fucking up.
