Jim Jonsin beats aint goin for less then $100′000…

    fuck that
    ———————————————-

So that puts him at one of the most expensive producers, doesn’t it? I heard Danja works for 50-100k, and he’s worked with WHITE PEOPLE, like Madonna.

Who are the most expensive producers right now? I imagine Timbo, Dream/Tricky, those Euro guys that work with all the pop singers [Stargate or something]… etc.

You should do a post on your awesome blog about that stuff…

  16. Smooth Says:

Harlem be very serious right now. Regardless of what someone answering that phone says. If I’m a label A&R and Jonsin wants a single placed on an album he’s not asking for 100k. You’re educated in this, you know what budgets look like. Some dummy may pay him 100k because that’s the number his management threw out and they went for it but Jonsin aint gettin a hunnid a wop.

    ==========================

Listen. Jim Jonsin doesnt call labels asking for a single to be placed. THEY CALL HIM.
they have a hot new artist or already established artist. they say ‘ok on this album we gonna have 1 jim jonsin single, 1 timbo beat, 1 JR rotem etc etc…
THEY go jim jonsin and say ”we need a single for beyonce, heres 100k”
    not the other way around

Naw, they really were dude. Keep in mind that until like 04, a really successful artist could still sell millions and millions or records. Nelly went diamond off Hot In Herrre, so 300K for the Tunes really doesnt seem like much when you look at it like that.

just look at scott storches lifestyle in the early 2000s..buggatis, yatches, mansions…this dude was a multi, multi millionare. we’re talking 8 figures..
now divide that by how many top 10 hits he had in that 4 year period..maybe 10?

The Scott Storch article is great.

Newspapers/Magazines can publish some amazing long articles that still put most blogs to shame, it’s just when they decide to talk about some woman not finding the man she wants like she has any idea what she want that things go bad.

Not most, pretty much all. That’s why they’re not completely obsolete yet. Mags and papers still have better resources and for the most part, much better writers.

when did wearing J’s become uncool….i understand shitting on fusions but OG J’s tho

  58. Breaux Brosephson the !! Says:

Back in 2000 until about early 05 producers were getting paid stupid amounts for single beats. These days NOBODY is making that type of money (300k) for a beat and if they’re making in the 100k range they’re coming with the full song already done and the artist just has to fill in the holes (ll). For Jonsin, who I can guarantee won’t be in demand by this time next year (which most A&R’s know because that’s the business they’re in) he’s not making 100k every single placement he gets. He’s not.

  59. Dewill Says:

This nigga Game wears like a size 5 in shoes..lol

  60. Troyvul Says:

    Beezavelli > Biggavelli > Storchavelli > Makavelli

  61. Breaux Brosephson the !! Says:

Smooth, Storch is a very poor example. You’re talking about a producer who was spending money he didn’t have….which is public record at this point in time. And even when Storch was on his run he was charging 75k. He was getting placements because he was affordable……and let’s not forget that at the end of the day he was still broke. I’m not being argumentative with you because if you feel you know that’s cool. All I’m saying is the numbers that are being thrown around are a little dated.
