Real talk when that album first dropped i played it all the way through non-stop for about a month…but when i go back and try to listen to it i cant get into it i end up getting up to Party Life and after that switching over to something else (c) Jada

GRODT is a pretty good album. sometimes i wonder if it was ghost written.

^No-sign, niggas are really forgetting how dope 50 was before GRODT, if you took his best mixtape songs, you would have a album better than get rich

me and my homie was talking yesterday about rappers rapping over other niggas beats and lil wayne/gucci mane “steady mobbin” came on, (which I think is the dopest mainstream song this year) and we thought who would rip this beat better than wayne, only person I could think of was the old 50, he use to make every beat he took better than the original, and not just freestyle over it, give it a new hook, everything. The song would have a new identity by time fiddy was done with it

As a long time fan of indie music that album was garbage. That album only had three good songs and plus the lonnie narrations made it suck even more.

  9. Rey Says:

I’m no Curtis fan, but his old music had a different energy to it, his delivery.. Even post-accident.. I don’t know if it’s cuz he had so much time to work on that first album, really commit the lyrics to memory and devote a lot of time to the delivery…

…but from Massacre on it just sounds like he’s reading off the paper, just trying to get thru the take without really using inflections or any kind of passion (nh) in his delivery.

My guess is he got caught up running the empire that he just didn’t have the time to be in the studio like that, so he rushed ’em out. Thoughts?

The narrations are skippable i agree..but its just one of those albums to me that dropped at a perfect time..Soundtrack to my Life, Simple As…, My World, Hyyer, Day N Nite, Sky Might Fall all are crack and the rest grew on me (II) later on

exactly why i wonder that. he made such a good album at that time… you’d expect his material to be better than it is right now.

maybe the money got to him
