Video: Drake Speaks on J. Cole

Drake was on Ustream for the first (and last, he claims) time last night.

One of the things he talked about was how people twist his and J. Cole’s words around, trying to pit them against each other. He says he’s a big J. Cole fan and they’re gonna work together soon.

After the jump, Drake talks about Lil Wayne’s “Single” (off No Ceilings; music video premieres this Sunday on MTV2) that was produced by Drake’s long-time collaborator 40 and Omen.

He says there’s an unreleased (for now) version in the Young Money vaults with him doing the hook.

40 produced that record for Wayne. I love that song. It’s one of those songs I wish was my song. I tried to slither my way on that record. I called Tez like, ‘Tez, let me get on that hook.’ There’s a version with me on it. I don’t know if it’s gonna get out there. Music is someone else’s creation. Once it’s done, it’s hard to say I wanna be a part of it. But me and Wayne, I get excited when Wayne wants to be on one of my songs. Musically we share that. We like doing songs together. I don’t think it’s a bad thing when we do songs together. … So there’s definitely a version with me on it. But that song is amazing on its own. –MTV

****I went to a couple of decent farm league games, during the strike- Otis Nixon is my mom’s cousin, and he had an interest/partial ownership in some bullshit ass team out in Richmond, VA, and during the strike, some actual pros were playing the minors….actually, those were my first “professional” baseball games…now, when I think of baseball, i just think about how the Nationals fuck up my commute even worse, for half the year…

No sir. When Ye raps his emotions come out on stage and you can tell what he wrote was really from the heart. That’s what stage presence is all about emotions. It’s how you feeling. If you didn’t have emotions when you wrote a song then you a fraud imo. Like that’s what I’m saying about Cole and Drake. Cole barely feels the song he just raps it. It makes you wonder…damn did he just write the song to write it? or was he really feeling that way…
    J. Cole just might be a really good ghost-writer.

  164. mugzi22 Says:

  165. Kris Says:

I can’t understand why you ppl put so much effort into pitting ppl against each other. Let these guys make music, let Drake’s fans enjoy him, and let J Cole’s fans enjoy him. I personally like both guys, and all you ppl trying to say what or how any of them feel or think about the other, really how do you know, did you have convos with these guys on the matters at hand. I hate to see ppl get on these blog sites and try to diss these rappers, maybe if you put some of the energy that you use on these blog sites towards whatever you hustle is you’d be successful in whatever it is that you do.

*Remember hate is the biggest motivator for the person being hated upon, but an even bigger hindrance for the person doing the hating.*

    So use your energy wisely.
