    Murda Muzik>>>>Infamy??

I think Murda Musik is better. But that was a dope album that got overshadowed by the summer jam pictures. Its alot of gems on Infamy.

This is how 97% of the black demographic feels. They always looked at him like a Hispanic cornball (actually a lot of Hispanics are looked at as cornballs by blacks in general) and they always thought he was way to pretentious for no reason. They just couldn’t stand another fat PR thinking they were the shit in a predominantly black rap game.

  3. CZ Says:

True, not sure which album i like better. Both were classics IMO

i dont think so… most black people love fat joe… its the young & WHITE hiphop fans that dont know how much Fat Joe means to hiphop..

My only argument for this has always been that both Em and Pun were so undeniably talented that to say either is “wack” is truly hating. You might not feel their content but they both can rhyme. Em blew the doors off for no one (nh), when an average/below average caucasian achieves success then I’ll believe he did. It’s like saying tiger woods opened up the PGA for niggas.
    ^
that’s exactly why Pun, Em, and Tiger deserve their props though…there were plenty of other Latin and White Dudes who coul rap at the same level as some other rappers who had deals. Asher Roth could never have even gotten a deal without Em. When you’re so good at what you do you can’t be denied even by your haters, that’s worth props. That’s Barry Bonds status, before the asterisk though.

Rashid, i have never in my life met a black person that likes Fat Joe and i went to a predominantly black HS. Never.

My best friend is black and he fucks with Fat Joe but he was raised in a Hispanic neighborhood so he doesn’t count.

  16. Black Says:

They always looked at him like a Hispanic cornball

Small cosign, i think Joe is a Hispanic cornball… in the sense that he’s a lame who happens to be Hispanic.

  22. Fresh Huxtable Says:

I know that I, a black person, bought the terror squad album. And I also know that I, a black person, don’t really care where Joe is from. And I also know that I, a black person, got
tired of hearing Joe yell “CRACK! CRACK!” and calling me a nigga in his music and in interviews. So there might be an element of that that Black people aren’t feeling from him. I don’t feel like hearing the “it’s cool in New York” excuse either, unless you’re only distributing music in the Bronx.

  23. hl Says:

Oh so now everyone loves Fat Joe right? Lol..sure

Nah. lol I’m saying I don’t think anyone thought Fat Joe was less than thoro prior to Pun’s passing. Correct me if I’m wrong.

This is true. Also many feel he sold out, but he usually has some street shit on every album.

  33. Black Says:

As lame as Joe is, he is a true street nigga by all accounts right? I think thats why him in blue furs and shit always came across as contrived and forced.

I know what you’re trying to say but you do know that “street niggas” been wearing furs since the 70’s right? I mean, if you hustle it’s almost natural to try to spend bread on the most lavish things and appear as ostentatious as you can.

I’m Hispanic and i say the word “nigga” just as much as any black person i know. But to me they’re terms of endearment that derive from societal norms. I understand how one can be offended but i don’t like when things get taken out of context.

This was going to be my next point but this seems to be a sensitive subject around here. I have African blood in me and my mother side a lot of my cousins are very dark. And yeah i know their are a lot of racist old fashion Hispanics but i can only answer for myself. FTR Haitians (no shots at RJ) the most racist people i have ever encounter so no one is exonerated here from anything.

    ^
maybe, but that might go back to Joe’s cornball status perception. Like Joe and Khaled’s general perception amongst blacks versus how people might feel about Pun and Juju is different. And I think Termanology might have been doing some thinking.

@Land, I should say first that I’m from the south, so we might feel a little differently about that. Secondly, even though I refuse to refer to people as n*****s, it’s not about African blood, it’s about a shared historical experience. Let an Ethiopian with an accent call me a nigga, and it’s problems. Nobody whose ancestors
weren’t stolen from the continent and brought to America as slaves and their foreparents called nigger should even think about calling black people any derivative of the word, and that includes “voluntary minorities,” I.e., people who came of their own free will rather than being stolen.

  56. CZ Says:

I saw this play in NY called Platanos and Collard Greens a couple years ago. It addressed quite a few things about black/hispanic relationships

  57. CZ Says:

FTR I have no problem with dominicans/ricans. Just had bad experiences when i tried to date some of their daughters when i was younger.lol
