I can understand why someone would like BP3. It’s not a bad album. I just wasn’t feeling the direction and sound. There’s a few joints on there I would throw on a best of Jay playlist though.

  4. Fresh Huxtable Says:

One reason I give the Clipse credit is that they’ve been able to craft classics in the modern era with a sound that looks forward instead of back.

Clipse albums are way less popular than the internet would have you believe.

  12. Mr. First Says:

AG was brilliant, actually. The diamond in the rough that will probably always be overlooked in retrospect.

… also, Royce used like 3 different flows on this record. that nigga is insane.

  13. landlord Says:

lemme find out niggas actually click on Bizarre’s video clips and trailers…

    stop lookin at drag queens

  14. Fresh Huxtable Says:

Like, AG had to recreate RD. Rae had to make a sequel to his one classic to do it again.

The thing that made them dope the first time was that each of them had an element of their album that hadn’t really been done before, or in a long time, or as well. Rae made a movie, Jay made a soundtrack, Illmatic was an Opus, Breaking Atoms was unheard of intricacy on production. And when Ye dropped, his subject matter and style was totally different. Same with Kast. Same with Bone Thugs when they came out. Lupe’s F&L was forward looking also, like he loved hip hop but also was listening to Linkin Park, Portishead, Radiohead, Bjork, and some other stuff at the time as well. I wonder who’s
going to be next to make something that completely blows our mind.

  15. landlord Says:

the Clipse aint make great lp’s, their producers did… they nice, but, meh ..

    Neptunes FTW…

That’s my shit though and it’s not like I’m defending it on some super stan shit because if i was on that shit i wouldn’t be saying AG was lackluster.

  18. Teddy Says:

that seven general dudes dope as when i saw the title thought royce woulda taken that one easily but gotta give it to seven general too much growling n shit by royce

  19. Suvio-Blue Says:

Royce IS NOT nice! what do cats be hearin?!?! i dont hear him sayin nuttin fresh…he aint been good since bar exam…boring rap to go along w Joey’s depression rap

…on another note, Immobilarity was crazy slept on…only due to the fact RZA didnt do the production, but the production aint bad and the lyrics is raw! Not to many Mc’s get better or even stay level as they get older, imo Rae got better
