fair assessment, except Pun was the first Latin Rapper that really was getting love from all over. joe’s been in it for a minute and has contributed since DITC, but I felt like Pun did for Latinos what Em did for whites in terms of mainstream rap acceptance
^^^
My only argument for this has always been that both Em and Pun were so undeniably talented that to say either is “wack” is truly hating. You might not feel their content but they both can rhyme. Em blew the doors off for no one (nh), when an average/below average caucasian achieves success then I’ll believe he did. It’s like saying tiger woods opened up the PGA for niggas.

“It’s not a game I’m from Philly
Go by the name P Crizzy Mac Milly
Used to be with Young Crizzy in the back rolling on twigs
People wanna know who run with me, nobody but the bang, bang….”

“Peedi, Peedi, I heard that they watch your mother
Got a hit on your brother, like motherfucker don’t – brrrriinng
Crack, smack a tooth out your choppers
Any wrong move, I blast the tool up on you fuckers
Wait, that’s just enough for you to follow
Heavyweight rap, I spit for much for you to swallow
Blap, Blap, number one with a bullet
Play with them guns to the fullest
Your stupid ass get, clapped, bap
About my past and my future, you disrespect it, I’ll shoot you
Treat it just like that…”

Fat Joe irks me
^
This is how 97% of the black demographic feels. They always looked at him like a Hispanic cornball (actually a lot of Hispanics are looked at as cornballs by blacks in general) and they always thought he was way to pretentious for no reason. They just couldn’t stand another fat PR thinking they were the shit in a predominantly black rap game.

April 6th, 2010 at 9:54 pm
Can’t remember what came first, but Havoc’s verse is the same from the track off ALC’s first album First Infantry, D-Block to QB….I only remember it because I always thought how Havoc came in was ill, went perfect with the beat…”Like white on rice….”
Maybe they couldn’t clear the sample so Al used the verse on his album….Our boy Alllllllllllllll….everybody’s palllllllllllllllllllllllllll……
