Video: On The Record w/ Sean Price

Sean P goes On The Record with Rhapsody to reveal his favorite album of all time: Redman’s Muddy Waters. Can’t argue with that seeing as Red is in my Top 3 EVER.

Honestly I think his second album is the best, but Muddy waters is my favorite. Whut? the Album is good too though.

Dare is a Darkside? That was definitely a quality record.

  14. AmpGeez a.k.a. Smoke Greene Says:

Doc’s The Name may be Red’s 2nd best effort behind Muddy Waters.

Dare Iz A Darkside was a product of one too many drugs.

Tonight’s The Night is one of Reggie’s top 5 songs though.

lol, That’s what’s so ill about it to me. It’s almost like one long song, but I mean that in the most positive way. He’s just spitting like a maniac over one dark, hazed, hypnotic beat after another. I never have a problem playing it from start to finish.

  18. G7 Says:

Red’s first 3 are classic. Doc’s the Name is real close. many consider it which i have no problem with. i think Sermon’s production was getting a little stale by then though.

  19. hl Says:

lol Word. It sounds like they used the same sample for every song on Dare iz a Darkside at different tempos. But that shit is still dope though. Actually that may be my favorite Redman album. I dont know.

  20. rex hussla Says:

Yeah man…Muddy Waters is def in my top 10 albums of all-time. I got doubles of It’s Like Dat (My Big Brotha) and that shit was a house party classic right there.

  21. hl Says:

You ever wonder why they never called Dare iz a Darkside “the Red Tape”?

  22. rex hussla Says:

The skits and interludes on Muddy Waters made that album a classic to me…

“this is brought to you by NAAAAAAAASWIPP…Niggas Against Smoking Weed In Public Places…a sub-division of IKSRTFO…I’M KNOCKIN SOMEBODY RIGHT THE FUCK OUT!!!!!!!”

Yo…there were a few red tapes back in the day…I even remember a couple gold or green tapes…but there’s only one purple tape

I went to a Redman & Method Man show recently. They tore that shit down. Easily one of the best live shows in hiphop.

Millz better come back with some ether…but then again, he can’t…cause no one really knows shit about Gibbs.

I agree. It came out the same day as Em & Busta and kinda got overshadowed. Good album though.

That album wasn’t really pushed by Def Jam. A shame too. Definitely among 09’s best albums.
