Anybody know why Em was calling out Nas in Square Dance?

huh? Never heard it. What did he say.

Sorry for the late response, I got off the site a bit after I made that post. He was naming rapper at the end saying “come square dance with me” and it included canibus and nas, and busta rhymes for that matter.

This was on the Eminem Show, so around 2002.

Personality/delivery/”swagger” rappers have an advantage over lyricists. Fine by me since most lyricists don’t know how to RAP,

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
    ?

Elaborate if you will, Wacka Flocka

A lot of good lyricists lack the ability to flow, or sound like they have any conviction/emotion. This was okay in the 90s, but you should be expected to bring something to the table in that department in 2010. Say what you will about those Southern rappers, they rap those corny lines with some emotion, whether it be a serious one or not. And they have more personality.

This is just my opinion though, on a largely subjective matter [personality/swagger].

Michael Steele looks kinda Indian or Pakistani

like that Babu guy from Seinfeld
    ——————————————–

He has the mustache, that’s probably it. And he looks more South Asian in the pic in that article than in others.

haha, it’s kind of funny you mention that, because I’m of South Asian origin [born in Canada, though] :D.

I normally run through the Rex Hotel – it’s pretty central and if you’re a jazz head, they have a couple of bands playing a night. N’Awlins is pretty much the same vibe. Joe Mama’s might be my favourite spot in T.O. though – The band I saw there was bananas – first song was a cover of Brown Sugar by D’Angelo. The devilled steak is also very dope.
