David Paterson is kind of my hero…you can find him at the most exclusive bars and restaurants on any given night, ringing up $1,000 tabs at New York taxpayers expense…..

The new bill indirectly fund abortions without that temporary executive order.

    ^Again, this is false.

The debate was whether the government would subsidize insurance plans on the new exchanges if those plans included abortion. Even though nowhere in the bill did it allow federal funding of abortions, the Pro-Life democrats fought to include very stringent language to essentially reaffirm the Hyde Amendement.

I said indirectly in my original post. Did I not? If it indirectly fund it, that’s still funding.

But I’m glad you recognized what I meant, you just didn’t realize I said INDIRECTLY.

But a temporary executive order isn’t exactly a victory.

  9. Beezy Says:

The bill never allowed for that. What it did allow for was insurance company segregating premium payments so people could use the federal funds for the non-abortion coverage, and their own funds to pay for a rider that added the insurance out of pocket.

You must’ve missed that part of the debate.

    I gotta go though…happy hour.

    Peace Boosie.

^I was talking about the original Stupak amendment. The EO was just Obama’s way of shutting them the fuck up, because the point was moot.

Hyde Amendment supercedes all. That is established and respected law.

Okay, now I really have to go.

    Toodles.

I’m pretty sure the new bill overrides the Hyde amendment since it deals with similar matters. I’m not entirely sure.

If you are right [and I admit you know more than I’d expected, probably more than me- I can be a man about it] it’ll be interesting to see if people do get abortions with federal money indirectly as I said.

It’s not unusual for governments to go against the rules. Just look at how many unconstitutional laws have been passed.

Good to talk, I’ve found stuff I oughtta look into.
