good point… but while we as men can relate, overstand and give him a pass, you know his own personal self esteem has taken a major blow… i know for me, if my baby momma/wife did to me what Carmen did to Nas, i dont know that someone wouldnt have died… Nas deserves either much credit or much ridicule, for not having that broad put on ice …

^ I get this angle, I truely do, but if you peep the flip side, its really telling of how difficult it is to find a good gal… Regardless of what caused the beef, she trying to burry the kid… that’s the foulness. ^ do you have to get samples cleared if its not on a retail ? Why not just make the beat you’re feeling (pause) then worry about clearance if it pops, that’s what eryone does.

that’s just it: I am working on a retail joint. I
and I have some heat, and I do have some royalty free (aka they came with the software) samples. But when I’m playing/programming stuff, sometimes the vibe comes and sometimes it doesn’t

^truthfully, i think most labels/rappers aren’t paying those amounts or beats anymore,
record sales don’t justify it. I’d rather take less up front and get royalties after the fact anyway. I think that’s one reason timbo does mostly pop nowadays

    ^
Really, I think about what future generations will sample. I want them to sample my music, and then have somebody playing music from the ’10s and saying “this is back when music was real”. I think that’s why I always liked the neptunes. Just the sheer amount of completely new music they were coming up with out of their own minds and talents was amazing

    ^
i haven’t dropped any beats, but I plan on giving the Nah fam the retail just off the strength.

And I think the back end deal is called lawsuits, lol. But you know, some original artists might be amenable to that, especially if they’re obscure and rarely sampled, like the original sample from Exhibit C. I had never heard that original song.

@Jersey: I wish more producers would really work with a rapper like that, developing a sound. Most classics have fewer producers, sometimes even just one. It gives albums a cohesive feel
