Video: Omen feat. Elite – Holy Omen (prod. Elite)

Omen was the only rapper featured on J. Cole’s The Warm Up mixtape, and this is producer Elite’s first appearance as an MC. If you’re unfamiliar with his work, he wrote a guest blog for The Calm.

Directed by Impakt Studio (Kick Push, Terminal O.)

cause that crying ass guitar riff will haunt a nigga … that joint sounds like it was meant for silent reflection… but if a nigga can murk it, more power to him/her … dope beat tho …

  6. London Bloke Says:

yo who got dat new freeway?

    i cant get it (n)

  7. Mr. Amber Lamps Says:

Spittin on “Workin On It” aint hard if you take your flow cues off the vocal sample”. It’s not really built for rappity rappin. If Jay Z could rap on Hovi Baby anything is possible.

Word. I hate to say its my fav on the album because it seems like an obvious choice. But sometimes the obvious choice is the right choice. I put a couple shorties onto this song in particular.

That’s what I was trying to do. But the way the bars are broken down was making it hard to complete thoughts in the patterns. If that makes any sense.

  10. landlord Says:

“Hovi Baby” is EASY to rap over… sheeeit… its not standard 4/4 bars, but thats no problem ..

    where’s my radio shack mic?

It is. But the problem I had while freestyling to it was inadvertently aping Hov’s flow while doing so. So rapping over it? Easy. Rapping in a completely unique pattern over it? Not so much.

You can’t spit on Hovi Baby with an original flow, you will use Jay’s cadence. You’d have to.
My favorite donuts track is probably the joint Jay Elec used for “Abracadabra”. It’s so fucking Triumphant.
