yes I admit I do have a bias for a certain type of music – good music.

Lol….this is the exact same argument of every generation. Do you realize you’re just repeating history?

^Subjective. Because though a ninja like Mickey Factz got bars, he’s huff to me. Has nothing to do with being lyrical, just doesn’t appeal to me artistically.

I remember back when you called something was huff, it was bad, like really really bad, lol.

^This be the realest shit he ever wrote. I had to do a lot of self-reflecting and asked myself was I becoming one of them nerd ass niggas that be stankin’ and hoggin’ up the front stage at Backpacker XYZ show. Then one day I dropped my guard and started not givin’ a fuck because I was diggin’ the music. Now my line-up consists of Max B, Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Rawse, and Jeezy. But ninjas like Serius Jones, Ruste Juxx, Jay Electronica, Freeway, Joe Budden, etc. still get major spins too. I’m not a one-dimensional person so it’s hard for me to pretend that I don’t fuck with somethin’ when I do.

Furthermore you’d be surprised at how much one artist fuck with another artist’s music and neither of them sound alike musically. Who would’ve though Curren$y and Mos Def would be doing songs together? I fucks with Dame (and always have) for bridging the gap between artists. Real Rap.

Yeah I hear ya, and co-sign on that its hard to listen to french without max b. Those were my exact sentiments too. Lol.

and co-sign on that its hard to listen to french without max b

^I think what makes it that much harder (n) is because we know we will never hear them 2 together on a new legit track ever again. If they went there seperate ways, but still did music together, I could tolerate french, but now that the wave has dried up, it’s almost impossible to listen to new french.

I’ll admit, I respect him for holding max down tho (n)

The music I listened to IS superior to the music that’s out now.

I think you just fear change. Soulja boy represents a 360 change from music that you’re accustomed to hearing and it bothers you that it is becoming mainstream, thus leaving your type of rap preference in the dust. But don’t worry, there are plenty of purists and gate keepers alive to keep the type of music going strong. You’ll just have to accept the fact that it had its course and it was a good run, but all things come to an end. That type of music is still out there just not in the mainstream. Just think about how your parents or grandparents felt when new music ushered in.

Yeah they were like PB&J lol…I remember when French first came out I thought he was your average, then I started hearing him with max and was like this dude got better….then Coke wave hit and French caught fire, then along came mac and da cheese which was hot too. They had that new type of energy that sounded like no one else. French lost that energy when Max got locked up and the music reflected it. They was on the verge of being stars but it didnt happen.

I also used to hit in no particular order, a waterfall bong, a lung, a bucket, a zoom, a vaporizer, a weed mask, a shotgun and I think that’s about it. Damn. Good job I only smoke rarely these days. What were we talking about again?
