i see your point Boosie… (NH)… and its no secret, that the different regional tastes in music have polarized hiphop fans and i dont think thats a bad thing at all… it gives us something to debate about, and it gives the MCs a basis for competiton on a regional level … but alot of southern MCs are missing a very important ingredient when it comes to emceeing… and that is the ability to communicate coherently to the masses… and not just to the local whoadies…

Well you’re right in ways, but I think You’re somewhat rooted in traditional methods and standard practices of rap. Emceeing a crowd was an effective tool for New York Rappers to master to get on.Thats never been the standard “rules” or ingredients of Southern rappers. If we go back in history and time, So little music had effective messages, even Urban music.. Most music white or black has been a release from the normal state of life. Music can be an outlet to get wild or crazy or be reflective in its form. Southern music has reached the masses. Its not saying anything important, or anything well thought out because thats not the nature of its climate or people. Dance music and having a good time has been the staple of its culture. I think we were exposed to a lot of serious music in the 90’s in the form of rap, to where we believe that is the norm or the standard practice to be a great MC.
