The point i was trying (maybe not clearly) at what point does somthing stop being art and start just being a product

for ex. house wife makes a quilt and sales it (thats art)

walmart mass produces quilts (that not art)

i personally feel that when item is made solely for the purpose for mass consumption its no longer art.

  2. Boos Bigelow Says:

think about it whns the last time jayz made a song about anything but himself…

yeah its art but cmon wheres the creativity or shit at least the desire to impact the world

What type of song is he supposed to make? and is it required for a rapper to rap about impacting the world?

Don’t 95% of rappers rap about themselves?

What makes Jay-z different? and Why is he held to a higher standard, afterall he’s just a rapper?

So something that is consumed by everyone is not art and has NO artistic value.

    Michael Jackson is not art?
    Iphone not art?
    Jordan’s isn’t art?

How do you know that Blueprint 3 isn’t impacting the world or some person on the street?

  5. Cypher Says:

Don’t 95% of rappers rap about themselves?

And thats why 95% of rap music is garbage.
