I think the biggest problem is that producers of Black comedies rely on satire too much rather than wit.

the last great black film i remember seeing was Love Jones.

the real problem is hollywood doesnt want to see black folk doing and acting in ways that dont follow the nigger narrative in mainstream media.

    period.

Black cinema is in the stone ages and will never emerge. Stick to Black music, which stays way ahead of the curve.

three rappers from massachusetts in the last few post and still get a “who dat?” from the streets in boston.

    smh.

Saul Williams did “Slam” which was also an incredible film.

but that shit was independent and too deep for mainstream.

hollywood and america at large don’t want to see intelligent dignified niggas on screen unless its one at a time like…..so and so featuring:

    morgan freeman
    larry fishburne
    don cheadle

oh give me a fucking break. if there was a black wes anderson making thoughtful, deep, multi-layered shit — studios would throw money behind it. it’s just not there. there’s a dearth of talent. there just is. where’s our generation’s spike lee? shit’s sad. whoever it is, is making music videos where bitches are having champagne poured down their ass.

    I don’t care I love black comedies

    Ya ever seen Soul Plane?
