I’m not gonna lie, they didnt even cross my mind, which is crazy, but I think that was because I never considered them a duo. Granted, they dropped two albums, a movie, and mad collabs, but I was always considered them as two artists doing a side project, as opposed to a true group.

i said this at first… but after going back and listening again, its really a good album. as with most lp’s now days it has a few lackluster joints on it.. but it has some really good songs that shine as well… overall its not a weedplate…

Because as much as I think Stankonia is a masterpiece, that was their only true hiphop release this decade as a group. And it came out in 00. I’m just of the personal opinion that Clipse have put out enough quality AND quanity to get the nod on this one. And shout out to Little Brother.

I always thought they alienated their POTENTIAL audience with the minstrel show. The hipsters and backpackers that dug the listening agreed with the sentiment of that album, it was the casual hiphop fan that thought it was mad condescending. If they had even heard of them.

i dont think you’re listening objectively.. sounds like you’re EXPECTING the music to be trash.. thats a huge influence…

  65. kevfrescura de talco Says:

the minstrel show was dope as i said however their internet buzz wasn’t just comprised of the casual hip-hop fan. phonte created that core workin w/nicolay and it was a LOT of mahfuckas w/different musical taste checkin for their shit. by the time the listenin came out they were like the ATCQ heirs to that sound and EVERYBODY was checkin for that shit. then they come out talkin about crackers on TMS and basically threw up a image brick w/everyone who thought they were just gonna keep it good music.

the getback? it was alright but not a good follow up as far as content message and group mission statement.

why y’all think pooh goes in as a soloist?

    or why ninth left?

the ship started to take on water cuz someone on it was punchin holes in it.
