Video: Drake Talks Track He’s Sending To Jay-Z

via Rap-Up

Their potential collaboration, titled “Light Up,” was recorded last week with Toronto production team Tone Mason and Drake’s go-to guy Noah “40” Shebib. “I managed to get this rap record with this crazy hook in the lane of ‘Forever,’ but not really. It’s that type of triumphant feel though.”

He also speaks about going into the studio with Kanye West over the holidays and releasing his first single at the top of 2010.

    from an economic standpoint yes.

because the majority of people mindlessly listen to the radio, request the songs they cant get out they head, buy the singles and then the albums

So basically is that how a song becomes number 1 on the charts?

Alot goes into what determines a #1 Billboard single, especially more now since singles arent sold traditionally. But radio spins and sales are the two largest determining factors.

    i think so, pretty much.

bombard people’s senses with it and the sheep will ask for more, even pay money to hear it at home and in their ipods when they’re away from the radio.

    funny right?

But Infamy and Amerikaz Nightmare were both solid albums IMO and are both >>>>than any Clipse album. That being said, Clipse is crack but this new album could have been better. I hate how they’re crossin over to these techno beats when they sound much better over grimey, dark gutta production

Its funny, even thought they’re miles apart conceptually, creatively, the Clipse and Little Brother have taken a similar trajectory.

Crack first album, classic second album that skews darker, and third album that invites in outside production for the first time.

I’d say The Listening = Lord Willin, HHNF = Minstrel Show, and TTCD = Get Back, in terms of quality.

I guess cuz Little Brother doesn’t have 1 club song in their entire catalogue lol but thats a good thing cuz i would hate to hear that (kinda like I hate hearing Clipse rappin over some Ciara/Rihanna beats wit Keri Hilson on the hook)

“ “The Listening” kinda brings me back to the days of when the 90’s was poppin’. It’s more realistic than what I’m hearing today and sounds like these guys put a lot of work into it. I love this album. Classic.[1] ”

Legendary DJ, DJ Jazzy Jeff said:

    “ [The Listening] is the best hip-hop album I heard in a long time…dope beats…dope rhymes…..I wish this was all hip-hop…thank you…I needed dat.[1] ”

DJ Spinna, an underground hip hop producer said:
