Video: Pill Interview w/ We Stole The Show Pt. 3

Part 3 of WSTS’s conversation with Pill.

The last piece of this interview is my favorite because, beyond the controversial videos and aggressive imagery, is the story of another child forced to survive without a family. Pill gives a humbling account of life in ATL as a child, his family background and hope for the future.

“It took a village to raise me…I didn’t really know what a home was like. I still don’t.”

  2. Nasty Nas aka seafood lover Says:

Seen my body layin’ down in the ground
It was painless, didn’t feel a thing
Shots ring felt the anxious to get up and run
    I was atheist, committed Suicide
I wish I could erase this shit
I seen a new life before the Christ
He created night & day, the sun & moon
    From the virgin woman’s womb
We lookin’ down at my body, emergency room
Doctors frownin’ at me surgical performs, I’m doomed
It’s my day of judgment, eternal peace & fire
Far past the stars far past the Orion
I asked that you forgive father, I was tryin’
Many thrones in the light but only one’s truly shinin’

  4. Mr. Iceberg Slim Says:

Lets try some real life situation and notice how gives nas credit…

See I was — born in sewage, born to make bomb music
Flow tight like I was born Jewish
Used the streets as a conduit – I kept arms
38 longs inside my mom’s Buick
At any given moment Shawn could lose it, be on the news
Iron cuffs – arms through it; or stuffed with embalmin fluid
Shit, I’m goin through it – mom dukes too
Tears streamin down her pretty face, she got her palms to it
My life is gettin too wild
I need to bring some sort kinda calm to it
Bout to lose it; voices screamin “Don’t do it!”
    It’s like ’93, ’94, bout the year
that Big and Mag dropped; and “Illmatic” rocked
outta every rag drop, and the West had it locked
Everybody doin ’em, I’m still scratchin on the block
like “Damn; I’ma be a failure”
Surrounded by thugs, drugs, and drug – paraphenalia
Cops courts, and their thoughts is to derail us
Three time felons in shorts with jealous thoughts
Tryin figure where your mail is, guesstimate the weight you sellin
So they can send shots straight to your melon; wait!
It gets worse, baby momma water burst
Baby came out stillborn, still I gotta move on
Though my heart still torn, life gone from her womb
Don’t worry, if it was meant to be, it’ll be — soon
