Beastie Boys had some of the BEST beat selection/samples.Production-wise they put alot of others to shame.Last shit I copped was Check Your Head. You would think after 20 years in the game they would`ve stepped up lyrically, but I guess they were staying true to form.

    Paul`s Boutique>>>

  8. Joe 88 Says:

Havent really had to chance to listen to it, but Days Gone By is the best 50 song I’ve heard in a really, really, long time.

^It’s hard to make it pass the first 2 songs on that album w/o hitting the rewind button. That’s the best intro and first song on a 50 album since GRODT

    >and thats how u know jay did “real” music, not some gimic sh!t like hammer or 50 cents or nelly where a few hot singles made you move units, but real music year in and year out

^Nigga please, you think he “wasn’t” aiming for #1 on the charts with songs like “big pimpin” lol. It’s actually a shot to his stat sheet imo, cause I could’ve swore he had atleast three #1 singles in his career.

I mean, because we thought it was 3-9K at first, it almost makes the 28K seem decent. But then I remember how distraght Little Brother was when they did like 34K for the Minstrel Show a couple years ago, and I’m pretty sure their budget was signifigantly less than Wale’s.

His first # 1 record of his career and he did it at 40 years old. Pretty amazing.

    ^^
What’s amazing is that someone who gets as many props as Hov just got a #1 record. Just goes to show that his perceived musical success is at least partially created and maintained by the (hip hop) media. That’s honestly not a fact I’d be touting. But let me stop before I start sounding like Amp, lol

I think its quite the 180; and thats how u know jay did “real” music, not some gimic sh!t like hammer or 50 cents or nelly where a few hot singles made you move units, but real music year in and year out and that he has made music that hat sold more number one albums than anyone in the history of music…not hip hop media but anyone

  13. Joe 88 Says:

    Hold on, whaaaat?? *dead*

^shit was too funny, J Hood and his boys was in apple bee’s recording some footage for whatever the fuck there doing, and out of no where, someone played a lox song, what made it super ether was they played “go head” J Hood was heated, nigga walking around apple bee’s asking “who turned that shit on?” nigga walked in the back and everything, shit was classic

I’m just glad Asher Roth sold more copies first week.. and both Asher and Wale used the same ‘it was undershipped’ bullshit.

    ^^
Dr. Dre bailed on that last project for whatever reason, and even after Tambourine became a minor hit (I think she peformed it on Good Morning America), she couldnt get a release date on that album. Unless it actually did come out, which in that case, would mean she did indeed flop.

You are small minded sometime you really think a song named big pimpin was going to be number 1 across the board in america>??? In utah, alabama, mississippi or any of the homeland america, get a grip…to produce that many number one albums with out a number one single, proves you are not a fad and you produce quality music…do me this favor, name nas number one hit or his last top ten hit in ten years
