The only thing thats kinda sad, is Nas supporters only use ether as nas greatest feats, listen i have all of nas albums and i can defend him or give his props way better than always talking about ether, listen that was a 3minute song that came out years ago and its a song he does not even perform live anymore, so try to think of other ways to give nas credit, also i hope some of u do not look at ur everyday life like that, ur happy that u got one good diss in on a boss but the boss fired u, but in the end u always talk about that one good diss or joke

Because when u drop music every 3 years, that takes away from u getting crowned the goat, esp. when some of those albums are considered trash by SOME people…if its all about music, drop music and let us judge ur music, everyone knows Nas has been hyped the last few years for everything but music, from his album titles to kelis to his money issues and thats the truth

How can Nas fans be MORE SO about the music when Nas Barely makes music…Jay Fans are about his music(which he constanly drops at a consistent quality) and his impact on the game….I was a nas fan, but his inconsistency lost me…he’ll put out some great shit and then some wack shit and then some mediocre shit and then dissapear

  21. 456 Says:

Nas fans are about the music and Jay’s fans are about…….

^don’t be idiotic. and nas fans lean on the music because he LOSES terribly in every other comparison. if nas was a don in the other aspects of his life, believe nas fans would talk about it.

  22. RIGZ Says:

Yeah, you said that before in different words…Im asking why though….

Because this isnt true for any other music….I dont believe it to be true for music at all actually

So artists that dont drop something every year are expelled from the GOAT argument iyo?

And whats funny is im a Jay “stan” but i prob. know Nas music better than Jungle, thats why im on nas like that, cause dude is mad annoyin with his lack of drive and thats fine cause its his life, but dont give him the crown if u know dude aint bust his ass to earn it

This is what Im saying….how does Nas barely make music? Does everyone have to follow a time scale Jay set for HIMSELF? Why cant you have a 2, 3, even 10 year gap between albums?

He usually drops every 2 years which is the average of most artists. And when you look at 10 albums in 15 years that’s a solid batting average and thats why he’s put in the top 5/GOAT discussions (I have him in the top 5, not number 1 but still)

I dont think he’s getting hype for just his titles though. Ultimatley HHID and Unititled got some good reviews and grammy nominations and on some level thats gotta count for something. He may not be hot to the kids, but in Hip-Hop you can kinda find your lane now and make music thats relevant to a lotta heads that dont listen to the radio or BET.
A Nas track still gets talked about online and he still tours like a maniac, so I think he’s straight all things considered.
Besides, nowadays dont most rappers get talked for anything but their music? Thats just how people are.

  33. Joe 88 Says:

yeah man, my only brother died this year, I cried too, last time I cried in years, he was in his 30’s too, one of the reasons why I just wanna go ham on a regular basis, I’m still mad at myself for not spending as much time with him as I could.

Not to bring a cloud over things, but I would do anything to hear him speak to me again

    *grateful for levity*

I think that, commercial prospects aside, it’d almost be a badge of honor to NOT be hot to the kids. They’re a fickle audience, and it’s not called “disposable” income for no reason.

Because despite how much resistance they claim to have to it, ultimatley people buy into the shit that you have to drop something all the time. Its the Lil Wayne/Jay-Z/mixtape mentality that we have been accustomed to and why despite people disagreeing with them, they believe in “Hottest MC Lists”.
Its not like in the 90’s or early 2000’s where a cat could come drop an album, promote it, do some shows all in a year then go away and comeback with another one 2 years later.
Now you gotta be everyone damn face all the time.
Its weird though, because Nas has stayed on the scene the last few years to me:
I mean he’s always touring, we see videos of him doing shows, he even dropped a mixtape, some unreleased shit gets leaked, he does a bunch of posse cuts and dropped 2 albums in a space of 2 years.
But he’s not “seen” appearently *shrug*

My Deepest condolences to Sai’s family.

I saw what he was writing on twitter the past couple of days.. about the doctors telling him that she would have passed a few days ago..

My moms been suffering with an inflamed gallbladdar for almost a year, and her effin doctor just kept on giving her more and more pills.. a few weeks ago she finally had a breakdown and went to the ER.. The doctors at the hospital had no idea wtf they were doing.. it was only after the surgery that they realized how dangerous it was opening her up…

she’s doing better, but it’s still fucked up..
