Eminem on Shade 45

em-shade45.jpg

Slim talks to Whoo Kid in his very first interview addressing Relapse 2:

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4

He says Just Blaze has 4 or 5 records on it, discusses the DJ Hero video game that he worked on with Jay-Z, Curtis’ “The 50th Law” book, and Alchemist talks about his album Chemical Warfare. Fat shout to ILLIONAIRE for the rips.

Curtis called in afterwards: Part 1 | Part 2

And so did Snoop Dogg: Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4

That’s a little bit too much aggressive content for the general public.

Sidebar: Going back to this picture, why is Snoop Dogg holding up what looks like a Relapse prescription bottle if The Game said the song was for Detox? Also, why is Just Blaze producing the track if it really is for Detox? (he deleted the tweet saying he produced the track)

The Game has a tendency of lying about shit like this too (“Aftermath or die?“) Em just told DJ Whoo Kid that Just Blaze has 4-5 songs on Relapse 2, maybe this was one of them.

Update: Snoop’s prescription bottle was weed. Mel says Stat Quo & D.O.C. were there too.

This is why Eminem is on that MTV list. Cats get hyped at the thought of a new album and his last shit just dropped 3-4 months ago.

    That white boy hot.

  4. A tribe called quest aka Yo Lurker, Im really happy for you & imma let you finish, but my comment is one of the greatest comments of all time Says:

didnt listen yet.. downloading now.. but, hopefuly he has some alchemist on there too!

  7. AmpGeez a.k.a I'm A Jerk Says:

If I was Fif, i’d let Relapse 2 drop and wait on releasing BISD.

The longer it takes to drop the album, the more music he gets to create for it.

I think the pressure of release dates puts restraints on creativity. Look at OB4CL2. Shit took damn near 5 years to make but it was well worth the wait.

I dunno about that but Em has a stronger sense of integrity then Jay.

Em is really in it for the art.

    Like Jay claims to be.

The only black people who like Em are cats who really value lyricism and don’t just blindly follow the trends/hype.

I’m not even an Em fan like that, but it is what it is and I’d be lying if I said dude isn’t prolly the nicest rapper out.

Even Jay Elec couldn’t fuck with Em. Not on some straight bar for bar shit.

Iceberg, I know you got the Hov quotes on lock… no stannery.. Don’t you find it crazy that e’thing ni99as say against Jay he already answered through his lyrics? 19. Mr. Iceberg Slim Says:

His last album sucked and thats a fact, no mater what anyone says….I have better hopes for part 2 due to the verse on 4ever, but let it be known that relapse was straight garbage for an ablum to drop after a 4 year wait……

What about Neo in The Matrix Trilogy?

And when Em drops the Slim Shady shtick, he talks about real shit.

SMH @ “niggas” not relating to Em cause he’s a white boy, but the same “niggas” were happily championing Asher Roth.

I luv Marshall Mathers LP, thats in my top 15 of all hip hop albums, but there is no way you can say his last album came even close to what he can put out, espec. after a extended delay without an album 4-5years, but he gets a passed, bcause he was a strung out white boy on pills and dealing with most blck men have dealt with the death of a close friend…but its all good no one ever says anything when these mc’s dissapears for years at a time with no music and they still hold there place, regardless if u liked Jayz of Pac, this is where i give them credit for, to handle pressure and still drop music year after year

  25. AmpGeez a.k.a I'm A Jerk Says:

Nah we dont relate to m&m because of the mom bashing (My momma loves me) or him getting molested by uncles or stealing pills or being beat up by nbrhood bullies or dissing pop acts i cud give a fck about or the many gay homo lines he incorporate in his music, he is a good lyrcist, but when im riding around in my clk (yes name drop) and im zoning out, i cant listen 2 m&m it doesnt work, sorry…but he is good lyrical, but as a blck man in america he offers nothing and how cud he??

  28. Mr. Iceberg Slim Says:

Every since The Black Album it’s been hit or miss and BP2 was a flawed album right along with those albums he did with R. Kelly.

Maybe he shoulda took more time between albums to recharge creatively. I’m not saying he wasn’t consistent but he may have sacrificed the artistry to fatten his pockets and stroke his ego.

Thats not what people are relating to, they are relating to the come up, to grinding at something and improving yourself and ur fams situation (regardless if ur hustle is dope, corporate world or selling fake clothes or cds), jay reps. the thought that i can come from anywhere and make it, he represents the thought that teachers my friends or fam. didnt think i cud do it and i still did, he reps that labels turned my down and i still hustled and overtook my chosen profession and became the bosses of those that doubted me….Most people subistute jays stories of taking over the block to taking over whateva hustle they have in there lives..Believe it or not but Jay inspires a lot of young black men, because thats the closest we have to identify on someone that did it on that level and walked like us and talked like us….

Hov is a dope repper (or was a dope rapper) and has taken what he’s learned from the other moguls WHO CAME BEFORE HIM, to get ahead in the buisness world. His legacy is cemented and he’ll go down as one of the greats. Applaud that man.

Amp i understand u are the dvils advocate and i know u listen to quite a bit of hov, but my thing is u say the flaws the man has (we all have some) but when i bring up actual things this man has tried to do the community and when i bring up his business practices of nvr stealing money from an artist or using a contract to his advantage u say nuthing…Now if u want to bring up the Roc, Dame has admitted that hov just wanted the masters of his first album and the roc name was theirs and they did not want to trade ok, fine…so la reid as a business man know he had to keep hov on so he offered hov all his masters and hov says yes ill take it, whats wrong with that, now roc a wear, dame accepted an amount as a payoff and even bragged that he got a nice check and laughed how that clothing line was going to be over..hov waited and rcvd even more, whats wrong with that?? Jay did some of the best rapping for ten years and he dame and biggs got rich beyond anyones belief, and than jay said ok, i want to try sumthin new…wtf is wrong with that my dude

No shots or hard feelings b.

    ^^^

I know this, i feel u know the history more than sum other commenters but i do feel at times for our culture hov gets a bad rap, for been successful, and its like that in our hoods also, if one dude does good and moves up the ladder the majority talk shtit about ole boy or start rumours instead of following his footsteps or asking dude how can i get on….Jay reached out to jada kiss signed him to rocafella and jada just dropped a very successful album, hov traded musiq sould child (whens the last time u heard about him) for fabolous and fabos doing well, he let go of the past and offered nas a very nice deal to come to def jam and let nas dropped wuteva he wanted and support the art and the title regardless on the public outcry…but still jay is all of whats wrong with hip hop to many

Nothing, if that’s how it was done & from Dame’s interview & even by Jay’s own admission, that’s not how it went down.

Reasonable Doubt was Jay’s baby, but it was Dame & Biggs baby too and it’s a classic album from a classic era.

I wouldn’t have gave up my stake in that project either.

Jay had the Carter Faculty & there were rumors of that S. Carter label.

He took the Roc to be spiteful. He got tight when Dame started to stretch his feet as CEO and started signing other acts to the label. Sure, Dame was an asshole, but he did that shut to get Hov to the top. Wasn’t nothing wrong when Dame was barking on niggas to get them there, but as soon as they get there now something’s wrong? And Hov has a track record of leaving cats who contributed to his thing behind. Ty-Ty & Bleek are beneath him and that’s just how Jay likes it. He surrounds himself with cats who accept him as the alpha dog.

I value loyalty, honor & respect over all things, especially with my friends and that’s the exact reason I can count all my real niggas on one hand.

  78. Cal Says:

If anyone in the industry inspires me its Em and to dispute all the bullshit I am black. No one has chronicled their hard times from start to now like Em. You listen to Infinite and you can hear him echo the fucked up times of the 90s recession and hardships of raising a child as a young father with no foreseeable future. Dude has been a purist from the start, evidence shows it, you couldn’t pay him a fortune to go back on his values. I mean anybody else would’ve toured hard to rake in those relapse receipts but the guy decided to go back home to be father after 10 years of touring and drug dependency.
It is funny though that the two biggest rappers out now are the most contested when Em and Jay couldn’t be more different. And also you cant relate with Jay unless you lived a carbon copy life as his. Even Em’s life is far from mine but its their words that spark interest and give us the sense that they are relateable. Jay sold crack, Em worked as a chef. Jay spent days on the corner, Em was raising a daughter, Jay raps about wealth, Em rapped about lack of wealth and all that psycho shit was a Detroit thing ICP, D12, Cage etc.

  79. kAiros Says:

Damn, Just on 5 tracks…with Em’

I hope those aren’t the same ones that Hov’ stunted on!

I hope he created those pieces specifically for Em’.

    That’s going to be crazy.

Hov is a dope repper (or was a dope rapper) and has taken what he’s learned from the other moguls WHO CAME BEFORE HIM, to get ahead in the buisness world. His legacy is cemented and he’ll go down as one of the greats. Applaud that man.

That being said, he has some severe character flaws that I’ve begun to see more clearly as I’ve gotten older. I don’t like fake people. People who are disingenuous. Can’t stand it.

^ THIS…. im starting to see that too… Jay is more shady than Slim Shady

Lats be honest here… Em is all about/for Hip-Hop but with Jay…. its all about Jay..

  86. spirit equality Says:

Em is really in it for the art.

^^^ No, he’s NOT. you know how many garbage cartoony variations of “the real slim shady” Em has put out over the years? come on, yo. Em reaches harder for pop singles than Jay has since the Sunshine debacle, Em just does it EVERY album.

  87. spirit equality Says:

and might i add, the emceeing on jay’s commercial singles is >>>> the emceeing on em’s commercial singles. i’d take jay’s verse on run this town or his verses on empire state of mind over the em verses on his first single (forgot it already) and beautiful any day of the week…
