    word… sports merchandising in general, took off in the mid to late 90’s (which coincided withe the late 90’s Yankee Dynasty) … the yankees are merely the most popular and recognized and successful team in team sports history … 26 World Championships (4 in the late 90’s, when wearing yankee hats became more fashionable) … their brand is international known and followed … is Shawn responsible for all the #23 Bulls jersey’s that people wore then, too… is he responsible for all the people now wearing RedSox hats since 2003?(and 2 RedSox titles) … was he responsible for all the people that wore Jerry Rice or Marshall Faulk NFL jersey’s … GTFOH Shawn… Jayz needs to get off his own dick with that line, because thats some egotistical bullshit … as a seemingly knowledgeable sports fan, im sure he cant actually believe that line, he must have been just popping shit in a moment of self-adulation …

    Naw, Reminder and Hate are 2/3 of Jays middle finger manifesto. Album wouldn’t be the same without them. I understand peoples gripes with the Hate beat (even tho I personally think it’s dope), but there’s no denying that they’re both (Ye and Jay) going in.

    I’m on the fence with Off That, not a big fan of Jays delivery on it, the hook takes me back to Jays Vol 1 shit tho, when he made 4.0s lame.

    Reminder is crack, even if it’s a little redundant considering he’s made about 7 songs with that exact concept since BA. The Memento line is too ill to not be heard though.

    BP3 > KC and AG

    I hear what your saying. When BP3 first leaked and when every commentor was giving their reviews of what should of been done and left off etc. I decided to not even listen to it, cause as a Jay fan it would of skewed my whole perception of the album.

    I bought it on monday, played through it many a times, and come to the conclusion. Jay put that shit on there for a reason, in that order etc. I mean 12/15 for me aint so bad. And I will listen to those tracks just to hear what he says, hes just that nice.

    @RJ

    I wish it wasn’t like that though,don’t get me wrong.When I grew up in Newark we had little league baseball and it was a big deal,but now it’s gone and you can drive 20 minutes in either direction,hit the burbs and it’s thriving.I want my son to play baseball so he can be well rounded like I was.It’s actually disturbing that the history of the Negro Leagues hasn’t been told in it’s entirety and as they die it gets more watered down.Didn’t mean to sound shallow,but at the same time it’s no secret that brothers in the minors/majors are dwindling.Fanhood maybe not so much.

    oh definitely true… i was born in the mid 70’s and at that time there were MAD black baseball stars… Reggie Jackson, Dave Parker, Vida Blue, Joe Morgan, Davey Lopes, Rod Carew, Willie Stargell, Dave Winfield, Al Oliver, etc… even the 80’s had many many black stars… since the mid to late 90’s though, somehow everything stopped … other than CCSabathia, Ryan Howard (who didnt even make the allstar team..wtf?) and maybe Carl Crawford, there’s really no american born black star talent playing baseball… its down to 8% african americans in MLB … the african american has been replaced by the african dominicans, and even cubans and venezuelans of african descent … no one can even figure out why this happened… alot of blame goes to the High School and College coaches who always seem to cut the talented black kids, while giving roster spots to the less talented white kids … i went through that myself untill 11th grade… baseball always been an inherently racist sport, from top to bottom … especially when the big contracts started popping off …

    how can everyone still talk about Yogi Berra (catcher), when Roy Campanella(catcher) was better than him while playing in the same city at the same time?… 9 out of 10 black baseball fans dont even know who Roy Campanella is … sickening …
