Video: Blu & Pharoahe Monch Talk Shafiq En’ A-Free-Ka

Shafiq Husayn of SA-RA’s Shafiq En’ A-Fee-Ka drops October 6th:

This was shot at Blu’s studio in downtown Los Angeles, where a bunch of local musicians would periodically have late night jam sessions. Pharoahe was in town, and came thru to participate in one of the jam sessions and we got them both on camera talking about Shafiq Husayn’s “Shafiq En’ A-Free-Ka” album dropping October 6th.

Look out for some footage of Pharoahe Monch collaborating with Blu.

And folks are brewing about Drake not necessarily penning all his songs like he claims he does. Apparently another writer–Kia Shine–on “Best I Ever Had” just won a BMI award for that track being #1 for several weeks:

They also posted a tweet of them with the plaques the won and they say they own 25 percent of the recod…….interesting

“..so Redman goes, ‘What about that white bitch?’ And I said, ‘That’s my mom!’ He goes, ‘Well use that hoe! Put that hoe in the video’ So, my mom is in the Redman video, at the end of the video, when the car pulls up, buying drugs from Redman.”

Live Nation is launching a brand new program encompassing every one of its owned and operated clubs across the U.S. For $49.99 all in (with no hidden fees), fans can purchase a Live Nation Club Passport and get into any Live Nation club for any show in their city from now until the end of the year. That means in L.A., a fan would be able to go to any show that’s not sold out at the Wiltern, Palladium, HOB or Avalon. In N.Y., it would cover Irving Plaza and the Gramercy. It’s a very cool deal—one that will directly benefit new and developing bands

Im just reporting the news, calm down, i do not want a fight with the fan club, but 25 percent is a huge amoung for someone who did not produce the song or who is giving credit for writing the hook

    —-

There should be some kinda rule that doesn’t allow you to tour unless you have sold at least 100k records.. Have SH even done that?

  32. TheCo!!inB Says:

    @ Iceberg
nah nah nah. it’s no fan club shit i’m just asking in general. the guys you’re referring too could have written the chorus for the song which, in some cases, would give them a larger portion of ownership for the song. They also may have helped make the song for Boi1da. do you have a link to the article in full?
