The Blueprint that Ye followed

the-blueprint

As the decade shortly comes to a close, the people at Complex decided to throw together their The Top 100 Albums Of The 2000s. They kinda got ahead of themselves and promised to fill in other Top 100s like Sneakers, Movies, Internet Videos, Girls, T-Shirts, Style Trends, Songs, Brands (amongst others) of the 2000s. It might seem like a tough task to fulfill but I’m looking forward to reading what they have to say. Feel free to agree or disagree, but for the love of everything holy, don’t bite the idea… I’m only gonna sit through 100 of these once.

Don’t worry, the Top 3 are from rappers:

Number 1: “The Blueprint”
Number 2: “Graduation”
Number 3: “Get Rich Or Die Tryin'”

He also was the one that let me hear big L for the first time too. He had a great ear for music, and brought every cd that the bootleg man had. His collection was epic, he had the cozmic kev “best of beanie segal” cd too.

  57. Joe 88 Says:

    @Iceberg

I was saying ninjas in the hood was rocking his shit. But truth be told, they only rocked his shit for a small amount of time, then came 50, they didn’t buy his latest albums, but they listen to anything 50 and em did, niggas was rapping his lines and all

they didn’t love him like they love jeezy or nothing, but he got the furthest as far as white rappers crossing over to the hood besides lil wyte from 3-6, lol that lil cracker can rap too, lol.

  58. BabyDoll Says:

I hate to beat a dead horse (no A-Chick…no shots either) but T-Pain feels like that Hov played him about DOA???? Hov told a radio station the next day that he thought T-Pain was just some fan on stage with him??? WTF??? Something sounds real suspect…

  68. Gravity Says:

Fck that list, life after Death sold over 10 mill and i dont even see that in the top ten

    ^^^^^^

I think the list is for 2000 and up. These lists are stupid anyway, unless the criteria is stated.

  69. Aggressive Content Says:

At least niggas is finally comparing albums, props for that, but this “MTV Hot List” shit SMFH.

  70. Cinsere Says:

So let me get this straight… according to Complex, all of Cam’s albums from this decade, that debacle of a Best of Both Worlds album, and the weed carrier compilation Roc La Familia were all better than Stillmatic (which did not even make the list)?!

    *blank stare*

  71. jfoxgotraps Says:

mmlp is #1 to me. grodt #2. god son #3. trap muzic #4. Lil flip 1st album #5. fabouous 1st album #6. Blueprint #7. That trick daddy w/ dro in the wind album was nice. but overall i think God Son got the biggest shaft on this list. But hell i never heard 30 of these shits so…..

  72. Quilldram Says:

A Juvenile album should be in the top 100 somewhere. He is only the best southern rapper from the end of the 90’s to the beginning 2000’s. I’m thinkin ‘Tha G-Code.’ Jadakiss ‘Kiss of Death’ should be in the top 20.

  73. Quilldram Says:

Trick Daddy ‘Book of Thugs’ definitely. I used to walk around prison in 2001 rewinding “Kill Yo ASS” ALL_DAY_LONG

  74. HaS aka Mr. GoodBaR Says:

Yea Stillmatic > 40 of the top 50 at least.

    One Mic >

    Ether >

  75. Ryan Says:

the blue print was good……..but Supreme Clientele was the best of the decade hands down

  76. BrokenAndroid Says:

Once I saw they had Hot Fuss @ 98, the list lost my interest and respect…

  77. prophecy_projectz Says:

Can someone explain to me this collective movement to diss Nas? (actually you know what? Don’t….)

How does Stillmatic not make the list?
What about Little Brother’s The Listening?
    Food N Liquor?
    TI’s King?
    Like Water for Chocolate?
Alicia Keys dont get no love, Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild? Kells Chocolate Factory?
    None of Beanie Siegel’s joints?

  78. GodsS0n23 Says:

Am i the only person who thought late regist >>>>>> Graduation and to me its not even close

    ^^^^
word. late registration is a fukin classic

  79. FTW Says:

    they always FUCK OVER NAS
shit’s sad thats why i dont bump none of this after 1998 shit shit

  80. derp Says:

If Complex wanted to do a best 100 Rap Albums of 2000’s, they should have just said so. It’s criminal to put modern GOAT Rock albums so low on the list (see: Killers – Hot Fuss, Modest Mouse – Good News For People Who Love Bad News)
