Nothing is “classsic” anymore..Name the last truly classic boot? sneaker? movie? song? actor? actress? Were too spread out as a people..we feel closer because of twitter/facebook etc, but as a people we’ve never been more apart.

If you name the classics..YOU HAVE TO GO BACK AT LEAST 20 YEARS.

    timbs
    jordans
    belly
    big pimpin
    denzil
    halle

Nothing withing the 2000 has been or is or will ever be “classic”.

    i like douchebag techno/drum and bass/daft punk/etc collabs

but when jay does it, it sounds forced

he’s aping kanye. any idiot can see that

and that makes it a loss

jay made the neptunes big. same with just bleezy. same with yeezy

he brung them out and then every dickrider wanted their production

now he’s following other artist’s leads

shit is tragic. i can’t believe i am the only one who sees this. jay can’t find that next hungry producer making bangers, dying to be big, dying to show his incredible talent

maybe it’s laziness on jay’s part. who the fuck knows. but his music fell off so badly it’s miserable. again, if i’m the only one who sees this around here, so be it.

In 10 years you think some rapper will make a skit about niggas stealing their BP3 tape from out the crib? Stop it.

you act like Kanye isn’t in his ear telling him to do this and do that.

it’s a loss to you because for whatever reason you don’t like the music (even though you like Lupe, Kanye, The Cool Kids, etc..all people who emply similar douchebaggery in their music).

I like the music, so it’s not a problem to me. Kanye + Jay has usually = crack so if Jay decides to “bite” off Kanye for the next 10 years that’s cool with me.

With Hov’s clout, to settle on Mr. Hudson was another move engineered by Kanye.

    “i like douchebag techno/drum and bass/daft punk/etc collabs

but when jay does it, it sounds forced

he’s aping kanye. any idiot can see that

and that makes it a loss”

    Sad but accurate.

This ain’t the way Jay was supposed to go out, with this crossover/pop album. I feel like he turned his back on the core fans.

He has to come back to give the real fans who have supported since the In My Lifetime single on Priority a proper swan song.

  34. Joe 88 Says:

Public Domain 3 was a classic

    *straight face*

and imo the nigger tape was a classic

And MDB2 also. DG Yola 14 grams was a classic.

Anything that I just can’t erase from the Ipod is a classic to me, and those albums still hold me down (pause)

^you cant put the genie back in the bottle. the music he produced was a reflection of his life at the time. it was also a reflection of the times. if he put out in my lifetime right now he would murdered by you very same cats cause it actually has a wack hook for todays standards.

  41. Son of Ether Says:

    Timbs = Classic
    Air Force Ones =Classic

Them one of a kind green Paul Mooney Stan Smiths that you got that match your green LRG blazer = Classic to you.

Nigger Tape wasn’t no classic..classic to you maybe.

  42. Joe 88 Says:

I think it’s hard for shit to be classic nowadays with the internet and how things are moving so fast, never had you had so many different opinions on music at once coming from all different sources back in the day, if illmatic came out today it’ll be someone that has a opinion on it online that sways the thoughts of others.

Back then it was word of mouth

people still live off of the source giving it’s first 5 mic rating to illmatic as the truth, not taking nothing away from illmatic, but I enjoyed IWW more, but who would’ve heard me and my opinion in colorado around the time that came out?

    Just saying

  46. eskay Says:

niggas kill me with the idolization of Max B. I like some of that nigga’s music and he’s a great personality, but say word this is who niggas is nominating as a Jay-Z replacement. for one that nigga is a mumblemouth, I can barely understand half the shit he’s saying. that nigga is not hustler or a businessman. he got raped on the contract by Jimmy and then landed in jail on a murder conviction. these are the qualities of a smart street hustler to you? that nigga is not a boss by any means. not a good one at least.
