As a certified Jay stan with no Wu experience (I mean, really; I know I’m an idiot, but I’m a 90s baby, I’m going to like BP3 more than OB4CL2. I just know it.
I understand your plight, and no shots, but in order to really understand why the music is how it is the present, you have to check out the blueprints. Cuban Linx hasnt aged a day, word to my dead father. Spark the L, and fall into its magnificence. I mean, I was coming up on Wu and BIG, but I sought out PE and Rakim later just so I knew.
I mean, would you trust a rock fans opinion that handnt heard Sgt Pepper or Dark Side of the Moon (regardless of how they felt about the albums)? I wouldnt…

I really like Run this Town. But, songs like Real as it Gets, and On to the Next One, the timbaland track (I mean why the fuck Hov going to put some of his best world-play on a song called Venus vs. Mars that has a godawful chorus), just never should’ve made an album in 2009. They were the future in 2006. Jay is not the future. 40 year olds don’t change the game. They get pushed out of the game. The turning point for me was when Jay did A Billie, and even though the verse was sick, he just couldn’t flow with the beat. Like somebody said earlier, Snoop had almost a bigger effect on the game as Jay, Jay is just good at perfecting trends set by others. But BP3 shows he no longer has that ability. Not to mention, he seems like he’s run out of things to rap about, his life is too easy now and he’s too happy and relaxed to be a good artist.
There were joints on there, especially 100 Bars. But like Amp said, I remember hearing the Big Bub joint and literally popping the CD out of my player after I first copped it. That shit was toooo wack to believe, and I never got over it.
>>Niggas fronted on Immobilarity.Live from NY and MGM was sick.
^that album had a few bangers on it. but overall it was lacklustre and a poor follow up to one of the greatest albums ever. that album didn’t have enough guess spots, which for a Rae album is one of his strengths. too much solo material…lol.
