Why is hip hop the only genre of music that has artists that can’t co-exist. There’s a bunch of bands and alternative artists that have huge fan bases with no competition but hip hop artists are fighting for 1 imaginary top slot.

    ^^
Because unlike other major musical genres, hiphop is based on direct competition, going all the way back to the dj/rapper/breaker battles in the park. For better or worse, that creates tension sometimes. It also creates some of the most potent music, so I’m not mad at it. Plus its mad entertaining. If Toby Keith punched Keith Urban in the face, I might be tempted to start listening to country music off GP.

    ^

    ok, by your logic:

jay-z: worth several hundred milli, signed the most lucrative record deal ever, married to bey, considered the GOAT by most rap fans, employed Nas, still relevant, sells more than nas, has more cds considered as a classic (BA, BP1, RD etc.), won with ‘Takeover’.

nas: wife divorced and sucked him dry financially, nowhere near Jays money, considered to have fallen off, employed by his old nemesis, jay fucked his baby mum, he did oochie wally, only has one album to be considered a classic compared to Jay’s, is not relevant in todays music.

oh, but he can still run through QB by himself, so that makes up for all of that. smh.

Granted, its your opinion, but no way BA and AG are true hiphop classics. They’re dope Jay-Z albums, but that’s where it stops.
