Hov’s vocals sound low on that “Run this town” joint and the beat didn’t change (mix-wise) like on kanye verse (suspect), otherwise it’s a hot track.

smh@ Budden thinking he could ever touch heavenly bars such as:

‘She said her name was Lola/
    I said ‘yo Lola, Swola’
    Suaveebola/
    Ayatollah/
    Saudi Arabia/
    Coca Cola’

Nigga needs to stop reading from the book of Jayceon and concentrate on making decent music as opposed to worrying about who other people think is better than him.

Yo Joe, you peep that interview of Sh where they was bitchin’ about the nah commenter?

  30. Gravity Says:

  31. Hoskins Says:

I have analysed “Run This town” and have come to the conclusion that it is yet another example of Kanye blackballing an artist.

Kanye’s verse is clearer, longer and louder than any of Jay’s 2 verses. Jay is barely audible over the beat, he didnt go hard enough- an unbiased producer would have mixed this better

    I see you Kanye

*wonders if self needs a new sound system or hearing check or both*

the song is average as hell (even by average rapper standards)

  33. k1ng Says:

I agree…I heard it a couple of times…and I really don’t think kanye’s verse is that good…it’s normal…mayb that Rav4 line was good but aside from that it’s a normal pop song to me.

  34. Apollo Says:

an unbiased producer would have mixed this better
    ^^

Thats the thing… Kanye most likely did not mix the song, but he probably had the engineer mix it that way… who knows, all I know is that all of these niggas need to get off they knee pads on that ye verse. Yesterday, someday said Ye’s verse was his verbal Intercourse… give that man the goon hand…

Well, i will admit that i am a bit partial to Hov (nh), so i can gladly admit that my opinion might be biased but on an objectivity level, i sincerely think the song is DOPE.

Like i said yesterday, thank god for giving us a mind that has the ability to form opinions…

  36. D_Block_4_life AKA heat the track up like abodo/sazon/sofrito Says:

The notion that Kanye deliberately had a shitty engineer mix this song in attempts to hinder Hov and further himself on this song is just silly to me, tjust my opinion…

Ya’ll act like Hov hasn’t been a recording artist for 15 years and doesn’t know when a a engineer has done a shitty job…c’mon

  37. NovemberEnd aka Respect The Architect Never Test The Elohim Says:

That’s true though but Drake is a Young Money artist let Wayne handle that besides Drake already got his fans I rather Jay help out J.Cole

  55. D_Block_4_life AKA heat the track up like abodo/sazon/sofrito Says:

    J. Cole > Drake
    ^
See the thing is Drake knows how to make a hit record and J.Cole has yet to hone that aspect of his game. I rather listen to J.Cole personally but i don’t think it would be fair to say Drake > J.Cole based of said musical attributes.

I also think Drake is a bit more clever with his bars and has a degree of coolness to spit game that J.Cole lacks. J.Cole is way more introspective which is way i personally rather listen to J.Cole but also lacks personality on the mic.

And for those who think Drake doesn’t make hit records, just turn on the radio at any given time out the day, and be prepared to heard Drakes voice on at least 4 different songs. Yeah i know the radio is wack (and i agree) but the fact still remains and you have to give credit when it’s due.

  56. D_Block_4_life AKA heat the track up like abodo/sazon/sofrito Says:

    Pardon all the typos…

  57. Credit Suisse Says:

Having Drake on Blueprint 3 will benefit him much more than Jay. Jiggaman is a much larger household name, he doesn’t need whoever’s hot atm on his albums.

I have no opinion on J. Cole but if he’s as talented as most of yall say, let the dude shine and put him on BP3.

  58. Aram "Mr. Coke is a Popular Drug" aka Alfable Alpaca aka Congenial Complexion Says:

Marbury was uncensored and unfiltered Friday as he took to the Internet and tried to host a 24-hour live chat with viewers on the Web site Ustream.tv from his Los Angeles residence.

For Marbury, the time served as an opportunity to bypass the news media, which he has regularly accused of misrepresenting him. Much of it, though, served as a reminder of Marbury’s erratic interview on “Mike’d Up” in the summer of 2007.

    Among Friday’s highlights:

¶On leaving the Knicks: “My job wasn’t taken. It was given to Chris Duhon. Don’t get it twisted. And that’s no disrespect to Duhon either.”

¶On philanthropy: “I’m going to set up a foundation for the world. I’m going to take the money and start building cities all over the world. I’m a comet. My man told me I’m a comet. I said, ‘I’m a comet?’ ”

¶On Jeanie Buss, a Los Angeles Lakers executive: “Jeanie Buss, I love her with all my heart. I’d take my heart out and give it to her. That’s how ill she is. I love that lady.”

¶On the best player in the N.B.A.: “No, I’m not the best player in the N.B.A. Kobe Bryant is the best player. I don’t care about the N.B.A. Those days are over with.”

  61. Andre Etherer Says:

Radio is radio. I honestly have no idea whats on it. [Literally]

I NEVER listen to it. I haven’t in YEEAARRSSS. So I could care less about “hit’s” because they never hit with me.

    J. Cole is more my taste. I like his rhymes and his subject matter and I see a great potential for growth.

I’d rather hear him on “Blueprint 3” than Drake. I think him and Hov on a track together would be much more intriguing.

With drake you pretty much know what it’s going to be. J. Cole would definitely be something to look forward to. Something to anticipate.

I just like Cole better than Drake. I don’t even really listen to drake. “So Far Gone” was o.k.

Wanna buy a human kidney? If so, you should have been talking to Levy Izhak Rosenbaum of Brooklyn, NY. He’s been charged with conspiring to broker a kidney as part of a crackdown on “a corrupt network of public officials who were all too willing to take cash in exchange for promised official action,” according to the New Jersey AG’s office. Yes, you’re reading this correctly. It’s just really weird.

    Reuters says:

Rabbis accused of money-laundering were Eliahu Ben Haim, the principal rabbi of a synagogue in Deal; Saul Kassin, chief rabbi of a synagogue in Brooklyn; Edmund Nahum, the principal rabbi of another synagogue in Deal; and Mordchai Fish, a rabbi at a synagogue in Brooklyn.

Most of the defendants were arrested early on Thursday by federal agents.

One of the many criminal complaints filed in the case also accused a Brooklyn man, Levy Izhak Rosenbaum, with conspiring to broker the sale of a human kidney for a transplant, at a cost of $160,000 to the transplant recipient

  114. "A" Chick Cole aka Im like a young simba Says:

Drake and J.Cole’s music should never be compared in terms of “who is the better MC”.
Drake is a versatile hiphop artist with a heavy R&B influence and J.Cole is a lyrically dope rap artist reminicent of a young Jay-Z or Lupe.

But the fact still remains that HOV is sleepin on his own artist and I think that’s fucced up!
Naggers like to say that the boy Cole ain’t ready but if you know anything about Drake’s history, you would know that his first tour, real radio interviews and all that shyt went down this year. He’s still learnin’ things everyday and making mistakes (best I ever had video, BET performance) so why have the boy Cole sittin on ice when he could be out there gettin the recognition he deserves. It aint like he got any real competition right now.
Nobody’s in his lane…Fab SHOULD be but we all know that flame been out. Most still don’t know what kind of artist WALE & Cudi is, CH is DOA, Spitta ain’t hittin like he should, Mickey Factz ain’t it, Ashor-who? Ace Hood? the list goes on and on. Lupe aint coming out this year.
Meanwhile HOV got this talented artist sittin around, waiting, and kickin some humble shyt. In fact he’s a lot less cocky on The Warm Up than on The Come Up. Hence the popular opinion that “Simba > Grown Simba.”

HOV is about to kill dudes career. Tell me I’m don’t have a valid point.

  115. Aram "Mr. Coke is a Popular Drug" aka Alfable Alpaca aka Congenial Complexion Says:

Yo RJ , i feel you on that.

Im here arguing with her, cuz we had this talk a few weeks ago how all are close friends/family have been getting married and divorced within the past two years like it isnt shit. Now one of her cousins all of 23 is having this big ass expensive wedding. I told her that her cousin was making a mistake. Nobody gives a shit about marriage anymore. Now she thinks that reflects on us. WTF!!!! we have agreed to not get married for atleast 4 to 5 years, but we can live together, raise children and love each other. But everytime there is a wedding I can feel her getting pulled in by the whole thought/process. I dont know man, people arent like my parents anymore, staying together 35 plus years, thru thick and thin. Look at the Little Homie he lost big time.

Whoever on here said that Kanye’s first 8 bars >>> his last 6/8 (I haven’t counted) was on point.

But if you’re trashing Rihanna, you might want to fix your radio ears. A great radio song is not necessarily made for Nah/whoever on the Internet to burn and ride to; it’s made for the 16-year-olds driving to the movies on a Friday night. This song is that.
