Video: Dre, Em & 50’s Protege: Slim Da Mobster

via MTV:

Dre’s The Chronic launched Snoop Dogg’s career, and his second solo album, 2001, helped solidify Eminem as a serious talent to pay attention to in the game. With his third opus on the way, the good doctor has tapped South Central rookie Slim Da Mobster to contribute to Detox, alongside heavyweights like Lil Wayne and T.I.

“I’m not even focused on my album right now,” Slim told us in Los Angeles. “I’m all about his album. ‘Cause the better I do on that, the better it is for the situation with my album.”

Da Mobster might be new on the scene, but the Los Angeles rhyme-spitter impressed Eminem so much that he pushed to have him ink a deal.

After getting the co-signs from the big homies Dre and Em, 50 Cent was the next to jump onboard behind the young rapper. Now, Slim Da Mobster is the first artist signed to all three artists, representing G-Unit/Shady/Aftermath.

To add to the repertoire, Slim is managed by industry veteran John Monopoly, who helped usher Kanye West from producer to breakthrough artist.

This cat is signed to Aftermath/Shady/G-Unit (Interscope)? Man, jimmy taught them how to get these dumb rappers. Man, when they get a bitch, they got a bitch. Jimmy is at the top of that pyramid. Jimmy hittin all the money. I can’t get wit it no more. The Chronic/2001 were classics. I don’t even want to hear Detox. Wasn’t Dre all on The Game’s dick like this when he first dropped? Wasn’t he supposed to be all over Detox? What happened to Bishop Lamont? What happened to Hitman? Doesn’t this dude know his album won’t drop for like 5 years. It’s all about Jimmy 1st, then Dre, Then Em, then 50. Everybody else is gonna get fucked. Ask Snoop how it really goes down.

    WTF is you smoking?
Joe Budden (Album) >>> Tical…..Let’s be real. There were only 3 dope tracks on Tical. ( I won’t even mention T2) Meth is the consumate featuring artist. Can’t make an album for shit. (Don’t get me wrong, he was like the collabo king) We know Joey be spittin, he just goes at people too much. The boy’s flow and pen game are viscious, though. Meth did go in on Ghost Chamber but Mood Muzik 2 >>>>>>>>>> Tical and Tical 2 combined.
