Only twelve trying to tell me that he liked my style
Then I rose, wiping the blunts ash from my clothes
Then froze only to blow the herb smoke through my nose
And told my little man that I’m a go cyprose
There’s some jewels in the skull that he can sell if he chose
Words of wisdom from Nas try to rise up above
Keep an eye out for Jake shorty what

    @Joe 88

I feel you fam, and I’m not opposed to “hood music”. Its just that Curtis is not an innovator when it comes to “hood music”. Dude gets so much credit and it really irritates me b/c his whole approach to making music is so formulaic and watered down its hard to even get into.

Credit to the Mobb and their early albums for setting the tone for east coast gangster rap. Mobb Deep’s first few joints all the way up to Murda Muzik are street classics that any cat hoping to pursue the “hood music” subgenre should study. I give props to those that innovate and bring something new to the table, Curtis has not done so, not even with GRODT.

And Power of a Dollar was boo boo, no pun intended.

  105. Hartley Says:

Premier. Try to understand what everyone is trying to tell you about these mediocre rappers who feel they are great because they are battle rappers. We don’t dig listening to guys talk about battling unless they are actually doing it. Even Saigon killed Budden. I won’t even touch on the others that have made him look like a pee-on. We aint interested and just accept that not too many people are.

Also, you seem hung up on this concept of battling imaginary emcees.

What you have with Slaughterhouse is 4 cats who all have that true school edge doing what alot of cats aren’t doing right now, coming with that competitive edge with the actual skill to back it up. There’s no other collective foolish enough to try them, and best believe Gunit and co would get embarrassed on wax if words were ever exchanged.

It had my mind somewhere else.” There are a lot of directions to be pulled when you have seven kids living in five states. Cromartie has been named in at least five paternity suits in the past two years … All of Cromartie’s children are under 5. He embraces their existence. His locker is adorned with their pictures. He talks with them often.

“The Lord has them here for a reason,” he said. “To not talk about my kids, it would be like I’m trying to hide something.”

He acknowledged it hasn’t always been so, but he is trying to take care of them financially.

“It took me awhile to man up and say, ‘I gotta do what I’m supposed to do,’and accept my responsibilities,” said Cromartie, who is not married or engaged to any of the mothers. “I can’t point a finger at anybody else. I made a lot of bad decisions my first and second year in the league. I point a finger at myself.”

^bro, its not my fault that when you hear the expression “dropped the ball” you have flashbacks to encounters with ex-boyfriends

  114. Joe 88 Says:

But if that’s the case then everything in hip hop is imaginary.Selling coke to imaginary fiends.Killing imaginary niggas

Your not making any sense really.. Its just an excuse….besides who spends all day on the ‘net dissing rappers? That’s corny if u don’t like the group why spend time talking about them?

^point is, you can put feeling behind anything you rap about, either if it’s battling imaginary mc’s, selling coke to make belive fiends, whatever, reason why I never liked this type of music is because it has no soul imo, it has no life to it, it’s just ï’m better than your old ass, blah blah blah” all the other comments are just jokes, but that’s my real reason why I don’t like there music, I listen to heartfelt joe budden, but that’s it, and nigga you act like i’m the only nigga on here making fun of these fuck boys, only reason you wanna point that out is because you like these faggots, if I was making fun of oj da jew mane you wouldn’t have a problem with it. Nigga who spends there whole day on the net protecting niggas they don’t even know?

until I hear a heartfelt track from these bitch niggas, i’m gonna make fun of them, period

-people don’t even know who they are (ex. Jadakiss) Pretty sure Nobody is afraid to battle these cats including OJ Juiceman. There diss tracks never hit home because they go on and on about nothing and lose the listener before they get to the point. Just not enough entertainment involved or style.
