I like the way that Pac Div has stated that they have no intention of flooding the market with mixtapes, because that kind of oversaturation sinks your stock as an artist…keep em eager to listen (c) Rakim..

Kid rock did like 18k first week in the late 90’s then he released some single & his shit ended up going like 5x platinum

If maino shit ends up going platinum in december is it still considered a loss? Just asking

Their last tape was like early 07 though. That’s a hell of a stretch lol. But I mean, if that’s their mentality, all power to them dudes.

***Maroon 5 only sold like 5,000 on their first week of “Songs About Jane”, and that shit went damned near diamond, I think…you didn’t really start hearing about hip hop first weeks until “Doggystyle”…

  20. Joe 88 Says:

^nah that was michael father that he eventually got murked, that’s some gangsta shit right there, getting ya own father killed cause he touched it after recess

Of course it isnt. But that’s not going to happen. Pop culture is filled with artists that have shitty first weeks and go on to sell millions (Maroon 5), hell, Thriller didnt even debut at #1.

But hiphop albums don’t make those type of sales leaks historically. Labels tend to work rap releases for a much shorter period of time, and radio is more hesitant to gamble on putting no-lable endorsed album cuts on their playlists.

^background info… shit, tell them cocksuckers to do their job. You most definitely do not have to provide NO INFO for those assholes. But you may want to save yourself the hassle of having them show up at your crib or job, like you said.

  32. Hartley Says:

Nation, stop trying to make Budden become interesting. He is taking care of that himself. He is his biggest fan. He sucks. Get over it. He will never put together an interesting song because his voice is boring and he is lame. He will NEVER be good. His flow is tired and there is no appeal to him so Nation, quit trying to force him on us. He had a chance when he did that tour with Juelz and Banks but he never followed his early buzz with anything but losses and zzzzzzzzzz’s

The thing is me and him used to do dirt back in the day, I sat for 9 months and he did 18 months off some dumb shit we did together so i’m thinking that they don’t know who his accomplices were and they just pulling in any of his known asscociates tryna fish.

Only because niggas ain’t putting no albums out…..and you can’t call it the best of the year just yet tho…we’re half way through the year….I think 50 helped Ross’ album sell too…by bringing attention to him

***Some jobs call for background info, especially if there’s a security clearance involved…when I got my jawn, they actually visited a couple of people I put down as references- if they got your name, chances are, your boy gave it to them…is this even a job related thing?
