    Bumping it as I type. As much as I fux wit Frenchie, being online so much, I’m not sure how far his buzz really extends in the streets.

    ^^

    dont care about buzz, i’m talkin bout music.

    aint enough new shit on it, but the new shit is fuego, and it knocks better than 90% of mixtapes i’ve heard recently.

    he got a strong sound.
    ============================
    But we’re in the day and age where buzz actually trumps the music. You can make an amazing album, but if no one gives a shit about the artist, what does it matter.

    That being said, French has continued to surprise me. I thought this nigga was a 3rd stringer but he’s making some dope East Coast bamma music and it’s working.

    So we all agree that Maino is triggity trash right? iight cool, good.
    ========================================
    I wouldn’t say trash. He’s not a very good rapper, but he has a certain charisma that’s allowed him to get ahead of other MC’s who are clearly more talented. With the rise of the South, true lyricism has been pushed to the side in favor of swagger.

    Plus, Maino has hit records and there are very few NY rappers who can say that.

    to be honest, East Coast bamma is the only thing thats poppin out of NY

  16. D_block_4_life Says:

    And that certain charisma that Maino has is his Street Cred, and it has been turning on young and grown men all over the place and it’s nauseating.

  17. D_block_4_life Says:

    He can make commercial music though..

  18. Matik! Says:

    YOOOOO nation the post here has 2 different d.blacks from different regions (i know confusing lol) The D-Black – Superbad prod by Illmind is D-Black from Bronx, NY and the other is D.Black from Seattle, if this can be corrected in respect to the artists, would be much appreciated. Thanks fam!!

    And that certain charisma that Maino has is his Street Cred,
    =======================================
    But it’s more then nthat. There’s an authenticity to Maino and his story is the classic rags to riches tale that we can all either relate to or at least admire his come up. There’s something about Maino’s story and persona that rings true and you can’t manufacture that (i.e Rick Rawse). I’ve watched dude come from the mixtapes, to being Lil’ Kim’s hype man, to beefing with Gravy to getting down with T.I. and coming from a local artist to a having a national hit with “All The Above”. You gotta respect his grind, if nothing else.

  23. AmpGeez a.k.a. Michael J. Coxxx Says:

    ===================================
    Eddie sold his soul to the Devil (aka Walt Disney).

    fixed, but niggas should shoot the fair one over that name.

    Why? That name is mad generic. Mack Mustard makes no sense at all, but you’ll never confuse him with another artist. Both of them D. Black’s should off themselves like old dude from Kung Fu.
