@ Cold, but we ain’t heard the album yet, everything they released so far was just to be thrown onto the internet, eskay said One had seriously club potential, so why jump to conclusions there won’t be more move on’s on the album ?

^ ty read my origina comment, fuck I’ll repost:

word, so now we get full onslaught lyrism, in exchange for substance… wheres the balance. Maybe the album would have more cuts like move on.

I’m saying a freestyle is one thing, these niggas are all known for their bar game. But all these niggas have made good songs too, cept for maybe crooked… Still though, theres no reason to think these niggas didnt get the memo and made an album full of battling “imanginary mc’s”.

^ the debate was based on the probability nothing more or less.

    … word fair enough …..

I still think every rappers battles imaginary emcees with their I’m the best, you ain’t seeing me no one can compete with me bars but I hear and agree with what your saying, I do hope for more concept tracks but even if there is none I will still be bumping it like crazy cause I enjoy straight raw lyrics more than anything, I do like balance too, but again people ( not you ) slam budden for his introspective shit and dude does that balance very well on his solo ventures

    @Ty

I was actually one of the people that like 808’s so I wasn’t dissing it, but he really does sound like baby kanye, from the flow, to the type of music he’s making. Well, 808’s is getting kinda stale, so I guess this will do for my late night, ultra drunk thinking bout my ex’s nights, lol

….. i do to, it’s not something i will throw on in the whip or at home, but it’s good to listen to every now and then and listen to in the club I wasn’t saying your hated 808’s but just pointing out Drake can sing without it so I can’t blame him for using it to appeal to the ladies, I agree he does sound like a baby kanye with better bars though …

LMAO @ that pic all thats missing is the guns in the camera and you’d think it was a smack video, but wait Joe 88 are you saying during the day just chilling you don’t rock jeans and a t-shirt ? and as much as eskay may post some bums on here ( no shots eskay just my opinion ) you can’t say the guy doesn’t know what he is talking about when it comes to music and commercial appeal

  13. Joe 88 Says:

I just wanted a reason to post the pic, lol. I not a photographic type nig, so I got hella old pictures on my myspace page with my “in regular everyday apperal” tee’s

  14. b-ease Says:

The Slaughterhouse/MOP track is boring. I’m not mad that they’re battle rapping, I’m just mad that most of said raps aren’t that interesting or entertaining (especially Ortiz and Budden’s verses). Beat sounds like a generic version of the MOP/Pun track off Yeaah Baby. Just doesnt sound…new or fresh, for lack of better terms. Just my 2 cents.

    *daps b-ease*

i somewhat agree. i wouldn’t the say the song is boring, its just didn’t hit like it should have. all 4 of these guys are different, but i’m hoping they limit the amount of producers on the album for a cohesive sound. the beat didn’t do it for me. go with three producers tops and let royce and joell pick the beats.

  18. Joe 88 Says:

My thoughts on the slaughterhouse album

will they have songs with just 2 artist? will they have songs with joe & such & such going back & fourth while all the other 2 go in? Will make stories similar to pac & the outlaws “teardrops & close caskets”? Maybe not the same topic, but along those lines, that would make there album more diverse rather than the same format every song, dudes going in one at a time (pause) that’s just my thoughts about there project

but boring ????? what the fuck more can you ask for than 4 rappers dismantling a classic sounding MOP track, that sound will never get old, any MOP beat gets me hype immediately and makes me want to start throwing couches across the room, and budden and joell verses were boring ? I think budden had the best verse royce and crooked close second even closer third, I agree joell was the worst but he still killed it ….

  21. Joe 88 Says:

And yes, the kids are the funniest part of the pic, and the looseness around the collar of eskay T pushes it over the top. It look like eskay was joggin & some random corner boys asked dude to hop in the picture with them

    ^^
Word. Having all four on every single track would be a bad look. It would make it more “collection of posse cuts” than actual album.

  24. Big_Seth Don't Idolize America Says:

    @joe88

That is def a good assessment. That would make for a much better album. If they did some things like that & experimented with different formats it could be a classic album.

    but I doubt they will.

Digging it. It’s a dope LP, and you were spot on, definetly his best effort since Black on Both Sides. It drags a thru the middle section when he gets more experimental, but nothing is straight up wack imo.

Yea, and that’s the thing, it sounded EXACTLY like what you would expect a late 90s MOP track to sound. I’m all for recreating the spirit of that time in hiphop, but there’s no need to try to recreate the sound.

my sentiments exactly, just stick to rapping he does that quite well

  37. Joe 88 Says:

I have a bad feeling about there album because of the lack of creativity. I’m currently working on a group album with solo artist myself (self promotion in 5…….4……..) and we’re doing different type of songs, we did like 20 songs with all 3 of use on there, and sooner or later, niggas can tell ya’ll niggas aren’t really a group, so we switched it up a bit, I got songs with me & just one of use on, then there’s songs without me on there, give listeners to adapt and find there favorite artist. Got solo’s, got songs where one of use got 2 verses & one of use finishes it off, so it’s not random hate, but i’m doing the same thing them niggas is doing, maybe not on the same level, but ya’ll get my drift

all of that is confirmed to be on the album.

yall got a lot of high expectations for these guys. and rightfully so, I don’t blame yall.

^Hearing is beliving, and every song followed the same formula (not concept wise), if all of these songs on the album is gonna have all of them on there them they would sound like a bunch of new niggas

Even The hot boys albums even had diverse songs on there. If they don’t do it, what would you expect these niggas to sound like?

& the only reason we are worried is because all the tracks that have leaked have had the same format. That does not necessarily have to be indicative of the album, but it may be.

I understand that. I’m not too crazy about this M.O.P. joint either.

but knowing the track record of all of these dudes, especially Budden, why would you think there won’t be concept tracks and diversity on the album? Because of what they released so far?

everything they’ve leaked was to get the fans hyped. they about to start the Rock The Bells tour next saturday, they needed another joint to perform desperately.

These dudes need some fresh producers or need to follow that diplomatic 2 format, or take notes from the wu-album, cause all these niggas do is go in and after a while it gets stale….

Royce is the only one who can construct actual songs…Joell has gotten better every track and I think he is adding new elements to his flow and mainstreaming it quite well. He’s really developing as an artist.

I talk about the club and women. I speak about treating women right. I just have a lot of different types of songs on the album. I just can’t wait for everyone to hear it. I know people around me that hear it are surprised and appreciate it. It’s different from the records I’ve done that I didn’t really like.
