Steele ft. Buckshot & Jo Chris – A Toast to Brooklyn

steele-welcometobucktown

The first leak off the upcoming “soundtrack” General Steele of Smif-N-Wessun Presents: Welcome To Bucktown, due out May 5th on the new Bucktown USA imprint.

Welcome to Bucktown, the soundtrack, was inspired by the 1975 Blaxploitation film Bucktown. The soundtrack takes the listener through modern day Bucktown, AKA Brooklyn, as coined by the rap duo Smif-N-Wessun circa 1994, and explores the evolution and current conditions through the eyes of hip-hop Brooklyn artists. General Steele proclaims “I didn’t try to copy the film or the soundtrack, but the concept and the feel of it. I was able to relate to what they where going through with the police and with their own comrades and I wanted to depict that vibe & energy with the songs and the artwork.”

Dre…what you know about this X-Men Origins floating around on the web?

    ^^
Yo, somebody at Fox is on some grimy shit. Applaud them. Granted, I heard that there’s no completed special effects, so this shouldnt effect the flick at the box office, but I know every studio is shitting themselves right now. Cause a completed summer tent pole movie leaking a month before its release is pretty much inevitable now.

  10. b-ease Says:

This mite be kinda of dope, kind of like Boot Camps Chronic more than a Steele solo.

  11. anons aka brother mouzone in a joe clair era Says:

When i was in high school i went to a Kool Keith- Black Elvis at the time- show and about an hour in, dude and his boys came out with cardboard boxes. In the cardboard boxes were medium size ziploc bags each filled with one or two pieces of fried chicken and a capri sun…

they then proceed to toss the bags into the crowd

    *daps all around*

It’s on just about every major torrent site. Like Dre said though, most of the special effects are missing and you can see green screen and wires attached to the actors.

  35. JALbert Says:

Cam should have gotten the sample cleared for “Oh No You Didn’t.” Hell, the commercial that the song samples used money as the texture for the buildings, just like the skyline on his album cover.
