Video: Charles Hamilton Interview Pt. 2 w/ YN

YN: I think people come at you, interview-wise, is cause you have the reputation that you’re a lil shittalker. You talk greazy, you say the shit you’re not suppose to say. You got the barbershop mouth, you talk greazy.
So then people wanna go with the quick score, you’ll give them the pull quote. Do you feel like every interview is trying to run you into that problem where everybody’s trying to bait you into talking about a Soulja Boy or a Rhymefest? What’s going on with that? He hates you.

CH: This is my third interview so this is how I know I’m progressing as a person. However he feels about me, is quite possibly the most laughable emotion. I’m nowhere near focusing on his life. So like my vision & goal with music, and who I surround myself with, my connection to my fans and to the people that make power business movesI ain’t thinking about you nigga!

I heard Soulja Boy made a really great financial investment, good for him. Any rapper that has said anything derogatory about me, any journalist, any website, anyone: is small irrelvant piece of litter on this huge ass microcosm that I like to call my reality…

That’s all I’m gonna type out, watch the rest.

    Ain’t true?

    ^^
Escobar gets a bad rap. He took it too far, but in the beginning it was like an ill creative excercise, to rap from a completely different persona. I don’t honestly believe Nas was trying to pass that off as his true self. No diff’t than what Doom does.

^ether at its fucking finest. DeVry insults are the best…I used one on Casketface once upon a time. I was pleased with its impact.

^^The same people will tell you they love Jayz for his portrayal of Frank White on AG.

Nobody is the same their whole lives..an artists recordings should portray that growth..or maybe even regression.

People say “oh solja boy is this and that” but 2PAC used to dance, had a earring in his nose too. People grow..and learn.

Don’t be silly.Jay-Z has THEE most extensive catalogue of joints to rock a party. His Timb,Neptune, and Just Blaze joints can shut any rapper catalogue the fuck down.Ask your local DJ.

    ================================================
Still, it wasn’t really Nas. It was a rap persona who invented fictional tales to entertain the fans. Escobar was a reaction to “Ready To Die”.

“Stillmatic” is the real sequel to “Illmatic”

–You can’t help to have beef with niggas. Its well documented that Joey rubs niggs the wrong way, if he had problems with someone then thats that.

–Smh, cam wore pink furs, ran with nothing but niggas, wore huge earrings, said some of the gayest shit in hiphop and followed it with the most used phrase in hh.. No HOMO

    ^^
Right, and the fact that people were expecting an Illmatic sequel on It Was Written, instead of what Nas actually delivered, it got unfairly criticized. Cats got stuck on the Esco persona, and ignored the near perfect rhymes, production, and actual narrative.

  28. eskay Says:

so we all agree chea put words in my mouth and then try to start some shit on some Saigon vs. Joey shit right? I’m not buggin? ok cool.

    I can dig that.

And don”t get me wrong, when it dropped, I thought it was an instant classic…and it still is.

    But on a critical scale…
    God’s Son > Esco

It’s when he combined all his personas that it all clicked (ie: Stillmatic)

Jamaican club music > Hip Hop club music

You dont even get to grind on bitches at American parties until the lights come on and the DJ throws on “Come and talk to me” by Jodeci

  40. M.Tyson Says:

after Illmatic why Nas didnt bring the same production to It Was Written makes zero sense IWW was dope but it to have 1 producer from Illmatic one preemo joint on IWW i dont get it

Even when he called in, he was taking subtle jabs @ Sai. Now he’s hinting that he smashed some rappers wife. Why now? To make up for the fact that we now know he wifed Fab’s slore?

As a rapper, I think he’s nice, even though I still felt PR was a subpar effort. But as a person, I don’t like the way he moves. He’s talented enough to shut the fuck up & let the music speak.

I’m a fan of CH’s music, but the name dropping was a little wack in hindsight.

Funny, but It was sort of lame that he got the names wrong & lumped all of us as haters.

^^We’ve entered into an agreement(naw) Ill have my lawyers draw up the papers(nochea)

  47. Seth Gueko Says:

nas wasn’t on and won’t be on the jayz’s commercial level and achievement. but jay took him like his rival cuz nas was the best and he’s still the best. this rivality was good for jay more than nas. people said that nas took some lights with this beef but too me it’s more jayz. jay doesn’t give a fux about fiddy’s rivality even if fiddy was a fuckin’ successful rapper in the 00’s

  48. AmpGeez a.k.a. Mr. Solo Dolo Says:

Right, and the fact that people were expecting an Illmatic sequel on It Was Written, instead of what Nas actually delivered, it got unfairly criticized.
    =============================================
Nah, he was a different rapper then he was on Illmatic. It deserved the criticism, cause in a way, Nas sold out.
Nasty Nas was dead. Trackmaster’s & Steve Stoute are responsible for Escobar.

  49. M.Tyson Says:

Stillmatic” is the real sequel to “Illmatic”

    ^^

Stillmatic would have been a snore fest without

    Intro/Ether/2nd Childhood/One Mic/You’re Da Man

    real talk

  50. Seth Gueko Says:

    Nas is also responsible.

but i think dat was good thang cuz
if he did a illmatic sequel, people would say
that not as great as the first and ish like dat.
so thank nas for ya career !
