idk, Busta to Maino to Red was pretty ill…Beat was nice, but Busta shoulda chosen better emcees…

Busta Rhymes Featuring Jay-Z, Nas, Ghostface, Joell Ortiz, Skyzoo, Talib Kweli and Jadakiss–That should have been the nine.

  21. ccluskin Says:

listen, y’all. the question is not what is your dream 90’s heavy-hitter squad, but what group of 9 MC’s best represents biggie and his legacy.

fame and cease have legit connections to BIG, and busta did work with him. that’s their claim to be a part of this shit.

uncle murda and maino are included because they represent hardcore hip hop (perhaps danze should be here too), which, arguably, is a biggie thing to do.

styles and sheek here are representative of the lox, who presumeably had pretty consistent contact w/big, if not only his influence, while on puffy’s label.

I know Red Cafe is from flatbush, but dude hasn’t really been active for long enough to know big.

Anyway, I think that the criteria to judge the appropriateness or inappropriateness of these rappers is the strength of their connection to BIG, not just whether some internet stan thinks that papoose>>>> all other MCs and deserved to be on this track, or some such shit.

N.W.A. biopic, ‘Straight Outta Compton,’ in development
    Mar 6, 2009, 08:00 PM | by Christine Spines

    Categories: Movie Biz, Music

Rap is finally getting the Ray treatment. New Line is developing Straight Outta Compton, an urban drama about N.W.A. (a.k.a. Niggaz With Attitude), the hip hop group that helped pioneer the gangsta rap movement in the ’80s and early ’90s. The project will chronicle the rise and fall of the rap quartet, founded by Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and MC Ren, whose songs were so incendiary (i.e. “F— tha Police”) they were banned from radio playlists but still sold millions of albums. Then came the inevitable fiery breakup, a grudge match between the former bandmates, and Eazy-E’s tragic death due to AIDS. The film’s producers, which include Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and Tomica Wright (Eazy-E’s widow), and Circle of Confusion entertainment, are now actively searching for a director along the lines of Curtis Hanson (8 Mile).

As a movie? Pretty much. I mean, the end battle is a dope scene, and the cinematography was above average. But most of the acting was weak, certain plotllines didnt make sense, and I don’t think the movie establised any decent character arcs, not even for Eminem.

Maino is trash homie, sure he has proven he can make a few hit records but as far as lyrical dexterity, no thanks.

^I mean he isnt the greatest rapper…I like his goonery and general outlook on life.

***It was pure hilarity when he was talking about smacking Young Berg- “I had to adjust his attitude, bit, fix him up a little bit” or some shit like that…and of course, on Cease…”ain’t nothing faster than a pyooon”

  128. D_Block_4_Life Says:

but Maino has passion in his bars. He is spitting real shit. I like rappers who dont go over the top on this fantasy balling lifestyle.
    ^^
I hear what your saying, he definitely has room for growth.

Andd FTR i think “All The Above” knocks but that’s only because of the hook and the beat.

^Co-sign…but Maino has passion in his bars. He is spitting real shit. I like rappers who dont go over the top on this fantasy balling lifestyle.

Maino stays true to his humble ghettoness.

Maino & Uncle Murda’s YouTube interviews > any song they could put out…………and this comes from someone who has enjoyed a handful of joints from each

Honestly Busta is a corny dude now..his presence on any song annoys me..with that being said, the song was alright, I think better artists would of made the song stronger…

on the topic of biggie, I had to make a ‘top 8 biggie songs’ post for today, but these are underrated tracks so they might be new to an average fan
