“Someone that I idolize and someone who I think is one of the greatest artists period is K-OS—that’s someone I really look up.”

    Bizarre world we live in.

“Yeah, well, to be even more honest, I leased a Phantom instead of buying one, ’cause I didn‘t have enough money to buy a Phantom, I leased a Phantom because that’s what I thought I needed to do. And I’ve done a lot of things to just enjoy my nights a little more and to feed my ego. And that’s kinda why I rap about it, because a lot of people are like, “If he ever steps out of line, I’m gonna say Drake’s wack.” So the only choice I have is to be honest with my listeners. And that’s not to say it’s not a glamorous life and it’s not fun, but the reality is it’s great for the average person to hear a musician’s reality because we all seem so unattainable and so out of reach that when you bring yourself back to eye level with a fan and do it in the right way…”

    That’s decent.

“I’m actually very grateful I wasn’t on that cover, to be honest. I feel like everybody that was on there deserved to be on there; I’m a fan of a lot of those guys. I just think I have a different path, a different story to tell. To be put in that group is a like a gift and a curse.”

Canadian. Started as an actor, got fame younger even than Wayne did. Decided it wasn’t for him. Deals with that as he channels his (considerable) talent into rap. Cool guy.

Co-sign. None of the usual theatrics & buffonery. The music speaks volumes on it’s own.

which is the lone caveat ( he adresses it in said story ) i.e ppl already saying a lot of his work on this latest tape is drawing heavy comparisons wit 808’s.. honestly i don’t think it will hamper/ diminish his shine, they don’t really sound at all alike to me, but I think i listened to 808’s all of about 3x since dropped

oh c’mon G who’s posted more links to embarassing shit about aubrey graham than me, everything from wiki to degrassi hi pics to jewish camp pics from when he was a shorty. anybody could get it in the comments section, poz, but at the same time “so far gone” was just damn good music. i’ll fuck a rapper’s whole day up but if he comes hard and strong and penetrates ((c) madden) i’ll give props

  35. KilluminattI7 Says:

laugh all u want, i’d be willing to bet that jimmy i and them aren’t ignorant to the fact that ALREADY has/ had a fan base just off the strength off degrassi alone…

ain’t saying they are banking on that alone- as he has surely picked up more fans of his MUSIC along the way- but surely it has/had to be taken into consideration

    smarten up guys

    So Far Gone > 808s. From a hip-hop head’s perspective.

808s > So Far Gone. Sonically, musically.

Now, if I can only pick one album I need to have from this year, I might be betting on it being Drizzy’s rather than BP3 or some of the other stuff (Good Ass Job ain’t dropping this year, I’m skeptical about the OutKast solos, I’m not convinced Lupe will drop).

Except Clipse. Til the Casket Drops is going to be fire.

  42. Crossbow Says:

Swear to god if this nigga ain’t Charles Barkley’s illegitimate kid. Check and see if dude is from Philly.
