Nas – Fear Of Mandingo (DJ)

Well, that’s the more family friendly title. When Nas first revealed the existence of this track he referred to it as “The Fear”, which was actually shorthand for it’s full title, “The Fear of the Black Man’s Dick”.

It was recently liberated, along with another previously unheard track, by DJ 31 Degreez on his new mixtape, Eldorado Black Project.

Produced by DJ Green Lantern.

Wow ya some supporting an artist ass niggas, nothing wrong with that by any means but just a bit surprising. I just got so comfortable DL’ing album that i don’t know if i could ever revert.

I meant to ask the DMV peeps- anybody going to the inauguration? I’m either staying home or heading out of town…My sis in law sent a pic of her w/Obama at Ben’s Chili Bowl this weekend- she said he’s like a regular dude- unassuming and approachable (none)….

^ I have to work that day unfortunately. I am sure you already know they closing all bridges that day so you can get into DC that day but metro or by boat (which is like 90 one way trip and like 100 something round trip) madd traffic so I am just going to watch that jawn on tv here at work. I figured even if I was off, I probably wouldn’t even bother doing all that. The metro is going to be crazy.

As far as partying that weekend, you already know

DC doesn’t have the infrastructure to support those kind of numbers….

    ^^
Yea, getting in an out of the city that day is literally going to be impossble.

**They’re telling m’fukkas from VA to walk across the bridge, lol…add in street closures, security, etc….nawsuh, lol…

Yea, they were going crazy over that on the news this weekend.

LF : I like Ben’s Chili Bowl as much as the next dude, but I just dont see the big deal. It’s good drunk/high food, no more, no less.

*ducks from Ike’s inevitable roundhouse kick*

***I download, but only when it’s something I wasn’t going to buy anyway, in most cases..what I don’t get, is ninjas that d/l a leaked album, then buy the retail when it drops…ol’ “excuse me, sir, you dropped $20” lookin’ ass niggas…

LF: shout out to the homie Billz for walking the walk yesterday.

My boy had tix for the ceremony sent to his house for free. I guess because he was in the military or whatever. Anyways, he was going to put them on Ebay. He had it on there for awhile but they took them off lol

***Nah, I’m with you on that….it’s an iconic spot, but really overrated, like most iconic spots are, no matter what city you’re in…pretty much, it’s famous because MLK ate there during the march on Washington, and Bill Cosby’s gay for the halfsmokes (none)…

I’ll be honest. Alot of that has to do with the fact that I didnt have a personal computer when dling albums really started popping off around 2000/2001, so I never got into the habit, which I probably would have if not. Now, its on some support the artist shit, but I didnt have a choice but to do that for so long.

I like having the liner notes too.

@ BH- my little sister got tix (she’s in the Army), so she’ll be driving in from NC, braving the crowds and shit….I’ll pass on that, but I told her she can crash @ my spot…

LF : I like Ben’s Chili Bowl as much as the next dude, but I just dont see the big deal. It’s good drunk/high food, no more, no less.

^ Yea basically. It is just a historical landmark because everybody has eaten there. The food is good though.

My boss is walking the bridge Monday. I am sure thousands of people are doing that to dodge all the metro and boat fees. VA is expecting traffic on 95 to DC to start at Ashland which is an hour from Richmond (3 hours from DC). That is crazy.

ill be in london during the week of the inauguration so i figured why not make a few bucks

  17. Big Homie Says:

Bens Chilli Bowl is definitely the spot after the clubs. Either that, the carry out near HU or Ohhhs and Ahhhs. But there is nothing like a huge hotdog filled with chilli and cheese. There chilli and cheese fries are crack. But them hotdogs, woooweeee

Y’all ever been to this place called the Greek Spot off U Street? I started hitting it up in the summer. They got these things called chicken souvalkis (pretty much a gyro), that are the definition of cooked cocaine. Take out only.

^ It is a soul food place on U Street that serves breakfast around that time. Its overpriced like shit but sometimes I have the urge for fried catfish, scrambled eggs and their home fries. $18 for all that though. I have to be real hungry and drunk enough to pay all that for that, but it’s worth it…sometimes. The ladies in there serve you in tight t shirts and tight booty shorts

***My uncle was a DC sanitation worker for 30 + yrs, and he says that he used to find animal skins (cats, dogs, etc) behind those restaurants in Chinatown, and a few of the other carryouts….I know that, at this point, the cat/dog thing is believed to be a stereotype, but ol’ boy is mad credible, and there has to be a reason why you can only get 2 lbs of chicken fingers for $5 @ Chinese joints…

After pushing the boundaries of what is considered “Hip Hop” with his latest album, “808s & Heartbreak”, Kanye West wants to push the boundaries of what’s considered acceptable. The rapper/producer now wants to bare it all in a nude photo shoot.

Before Kanye takes it off for the camera, however, he wants to make sure he’s pleasing to the eye.

“I definitely feel, like, in the next however many years, if I work out for two months, that I’ll pose naked,” West told Vibe.

West adds that he’s not necessarily looking for attention, but wants to challenge American and black culture norms.

“I break every rule and mentality of hip-hop, of black culture, of American culture.”

***That’s not my normal commute- it’s typically 45 minutes- not sure what the glitch was, this morning….I had a job in Bowie, with a 12 minute commute, but I gave it up for my current gig, which offered an extra $25K for my trouble, so I can’t complain too much…

The beat should be just used to synchronize you rhythmically,

    ^^
That should be its main purpose (cuz if you’re not synched rhythmically, its going to suck regardless), but I think it should be more than that. I cant think of one classic hiphop song that’s beat wouldnt stand alone as an ill instrumental. Can you think of any? No sarcasm, I’m really asking.
