  5. nation Says:

    >> this album woulda been platinum right now! i guaran-damn-tee you

maybe, but you gotta watch how kanye still smirks his life away when he performs love lockdown and thinks: “damn i freestyled the single of the year… this shit is pretty clever”

  6. M.Tyson Says:

i hope kanye gets back to rapping ASAP..so i can start to take dude’s music/peformences seriously agian

  7. Rockabye Says:

The first performance was getting ethered all over the net, but that Heartless/Pinocchio is growing on me.

Kanye needs to let this singing thing ride for six months, not tour with it after that, and get Past Tell and Good Ass Job in the pipeline. It’s good stuff, but dude can be great.

  23. anons Says:

    @ tribe

i’m stil not sure about 808’s

in the final version (i just bought the album a few days ago) he watered down what i thought would’ve been the two best songs…welcome to heartbreak and robocop. they weren’t as edgy as the leaks… he used strings through all of robocop instead of just at the end and welcome to heartbreak sounds weaker..

and pinnochio story is a disgrace and takes the album down a couple pegs in my view..

  24. nation Says:

    [KILL YOURSELF]

    ^ dead

808s was aight… i played the fuck out of it and might continue to, but was it really the best hip hop album of the year? even Ye was saying that shit was Pop music etc. no offense to how hip hop it is of him to DISS his ex girlfriend on universal, def jam & roc-a-fella’s dollar…

    applaud this man

  25. anons Says:

paranoid is the best track on the album. which i would be pissed about if it was an actual hip hop album

  26. A tribe called quest Says:

Eh im not into the whole labeling shit. That whole Hiphop, Rap, rap/hiphop. HipPop. that shit is irrelevant. My rating scale is, You either make Good music, or bad music. You either make Jayz music, Or Colgate P music. That simple.

  27. A tribe called quest Says:

let me clarify. Just cause kanyes album isnt hiphop per say, doesnt diminish how dope it was. Although i agree he fucked up robocop and im not the biggest love lockdown fan. But heartless and say you will can contest against any song this year

  28. nation Says:

    >> Although i agree he fucked up robocop

    nah. listen again

  29. nation Says:

truthfully, the first time i heard the album version of Robocop i was like woww wtf you ruined a dope song. then i realized the album version was probably the best song on the album (with Say You Will)… then i listened to the version no one was supposed to hear, and it was aight, but it wasn’t as good as i had originally thought it was

Max stepped into the scene 2008. Nigga been in Europe before(in NBA terms).

Surprise as I didnt expect that i’d enjoy an Uncle Murda mixtape. but this shit is so mad ignorant its pretty dope. rhymes and beats are cool too.

Yo fo real i dug both of these performances, im mad tired of yall niggas tryin to downplay the impact of 808’s. yall the same niggas cryin for new shit in rap, kanye goes outside the box and he gets stoned for it. shit you cant live on the block all damn day.

  51. anons Says:

    Get By

  53. anons Says:

i give u diamonds but down and out was a make up beat cos kanye promised it to cam and jim then gave it to hov

i wanna have that too, i just have the one with dj envy off raps makeover.

i almost had a heat attack once cuz i just started the whip and the song was on and the first was that annoying WWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRR or whatever the fuck he says.

god damn stack murdered that beat.

btw: atcq: you know why Stack is talkin bout “there’s only way in and out ther Roc(k) and that’s through me, i guess you muhfuckas know SC”

i mean i know Stack was form Far Rock and all that but what has Jay to do with it?

What up billz. Max is on a fucking roll, between them 3 new joints he dropped, live comfortable, & don’t leave your gunz, I don’t see how a ninja don’t like his music.

I need my money > the other 2 songs

    And they was heat rock

  68. supergarf Says:

808’s is just real good music think in a few years people who havent really realised its greatness will eat their words.

  69. D. Billz Says:

    Yerrrrrro @ Joe88

That Uncle Murda mixtape is hilarious so far. I’ve only made it to the song with Lil Kim on it but it’s been up to par.

Yo, Max is ROTY. Fuck the dumb shit. Quarantine is shaping up to be a banger, and even better than PD3. And that’s saying a lot for me because PD3 stays in heavy rotation on my PC. I can see why others might not like his music because his sound/flow is unorthodox. I’m really starting to believe that you have to be a wavy type ninja to understand it, i.e. like to party, drink and/or smoke, make the homies and heffas laugh, look fly, and have an impeccable two-step. Lol

^Exactly, dude is funny as fuck (c. the end of paperwork), has a great ear for beats, great melody, & never really comes at a track the same, even the songs that reminds you of other songs he did don’t sound the same. And IMO, he’s getting better, I didn’t expect all 3 of those songs to bang like they do, jimmy really fucked up this time.

    Max B > Dipset

And max is planning on keeping the MDB series going, dropping pd5 (rumor has it it’s gonna be a double disc, since he jumped from pd3 to pd5) and vigilante season, wow, it’s gonna be so fucking wavy next year man. I still bang the “suck this pistol” freestyle to death. That ninja is talented, lol (n/h)

…. I think he was just using it a a metaphor ( all these rappers bout punchlines and metaphors I’ll twist your sister out THATS what I met-her-for (c) Budden ) ) or a simile more likely just saying only way through far rock was through him and the only to the ROC was if you cool with Jay, so fuck it now that I types that out I think your right he was saying you need to be carrying Jay’s groceries and shining his chacletes (sp?) if you wanna get on the roc and co-sign the fact that Stack was dumb nice, why couldn’t they have taken out jim jones or some other bum, although Land did un properly eulogize him in a o so wrong but o so absolutely hysterical way

just get her a nice, expensive book that has something to with she teaches(a bit), not full on topic, cuz she prolly knows/has it anyway but something the she should be interested in. I got my physics professor a book about Alexander Humboldt(about 150 $) for instance

808’s and Heartbreak is a great album. But it’s not in the hiphop category, so it doesnt qualify for hiphop album of the year. If this was Kanye’s debut album, the hiphop press would not have covered this project. It really is a great album tho.

…. me and my boy ( die-hard kanye stan, like he makes Rey look like a hater ) and he was at first and disappointed until he just realized Kanye urned himself into a R&B artist with this album and as an R&B album it is great I co-sign that but who wants to hear Kanye do R&B, not me. I understand he says it’s something he needed to do for himself so I’m cool with it but that doesn’t mean I got to stay bumping it, although there are a couple really good songs on there, I just hate autotune that much especially for someone with talent, like I respect T-Pain for it because he admits I can’t sing but I heard this shit and figured I could make something good with it, if your as talented as kanye I think autotune is a cop out and lazy, if he used it just for the hook and rapped some verses I would be ok with that but man my boy was spinning classic hip-hop in the city last night and kept throwing on old Kanye and half the club would go crazy screaming now thats that real kanye the kanye we all now and love ( none )

  95. jon jon Says:

I just hate autotune that much especially for someone with talent, like I respect T-Pain for it because he admits I can’t sing

    ^^^
To me, Kanye’s not using it like T-Pain, or Ron Brownz or whoever. They do it for pitch correction. Kanye’s using it for vocal effect, like Radiohead or TV on the Radio. Which is to say, he’s not trying to make his singing sound better, he’s trying to evoke a particular mood/emotion from the song.

On the flip side, I still like the songs from the 1st and 2nd album and I think his strongest musical asset was bringing a new style and sound to the game. He was never lyrically groundbreaking but the late 90’s/early 2G’s was all about being gritty so it fit. As far as him being one of the GOATs, I would say no. But he was one of the GOATs during the peak of his era. If that makes any sense…

  190. Joe 88 Says:

co-sign billz. what he brought to the table will always be appreciated, we needed that aggresive content badly around that time, and I will still call his first 2 albums classic, even if they don’t sound classic anymore, with the way his life is going right now, he needs all the credit he can get, lol. “how’s it going down” is still some of my favorite summertime music. And the prayer song off the first joint is classic, my father started fucking with the dark man (n/h) off of that one joint alone

You can crack the code to ANYONES style like that & imitate their shit. Like really, ANYONE. Dont mean you’ll be as good as them tho

thats just one part of the puzzle

Your still missing personality, charisma, breath control, timing, flow, rhythm, voice, clarity, live performance, voice projection, style grind….

There’s alot more to it than that, thats a silly way to look at it pockets, no shots

… lmao, you need to listen to more of his music, I know theres a shit load of it and I will agree theres some out there not that great shit but thats what happens when you drop 9 mixtapes in 3 months but most of his shit is just blacking out on classic beats and some sing songy hooks

I’m not getting into a charles discussion again though

do you still need that preface ?

I bust 6 out the roof out my bentley coup, head shots so mu’fukkas can’t regroup

I don’t know who had the best verse, but sauce & Cee-lo stood out the most (n/h)

  211. pockets Says:

hold up would i say just because i can imitate a few jay lines for like two minutes i dont think he can rap? hell fucking no. but in murdas case, unless uncle murda has evolved over the last year whilst me not listening to him, yes his fucking shit is easily copyable and doable. my proof, plenty of others rap just like him. what people like about him is hes funny, which i give him props for. his lyrics are trash tho and ultimately thats my thesis.

  212. D. Billz Says:

I bust 6 out the roof out my bentley coup, head shots so mu’fukkas can’t regroup

  213. b-ease Says:

I wish the song with him and Yayo would’ve been better.

Yea, that shits a question mark. You rap like you’re a Black version of Commando without the daughter, you get a dude that literally backhands adolescents on a track, and y’all niggas do a weed song??? That makes no fucking sense.

  214. Joe 88 Says:

I’m starting to love ninjas mixtapes more than there albums off the samples that don’t need to be cleared alone. and the freedom a artist gets on mixtapes, can you imagine a real uncle murda album? He had to make a legit club song, political song, romance song, etc, & that shit would sound so corny coming from him

  215. pockets Says:

@ ty yea could be so kind as to pass me the Preface

  216. D. Billz Says:

yes his fucking shit is easily copyable and doable. my proof, plenty of others rap just like him.

^But nobody is talking about the other rappers so that makes everything else you said void. Regardless of your opinion of said skills, Murda evidently has fans (regardless of size of fan base) while the others are unknown on all spectrums, i.e. Internet, streets, radio, etc.

Did he think he would suddenly be able to sing just by sheer will power alone?
