    @ joe

    good summation. entertaining>strictly lyrical

The problem with hiphop now is that for some reason, we don’t think we have a right to ask for both.

I would say that Wale and Charles Hamilton are two new cats that are currently bucking that trend. Wayne was at that point in ’07, and that’s why Hov is the GOAT.

  5. Plug Says:

The thrill of victory, the agony, defeat
We crush slow, flamin deluxe slow
For, judgment day cometh, conquer, it’s war
Allow us to escape, hell glow spinning bomb
Pocket full of shells out the sky, Golden Arms
Tune spit the shitty Mortal Kombat sound
The fateful step make, the blood stain the ground
    A jungle junkie, vigilante tantrum
A death kiss, catwalk, squeeze another anthem
Hold it for ransom, tranquilized with anesthetics
    My orchestra, graceful, music ballerinas
My music Sicily, rich California smell
An axekiller adventure, paint a picture well
I sing a song from Sing-Sing, sippin on ginseng
Righteous wax chaperone, rotating ring king

Ill take one of U-God’s three hot verses for 400, alex

Dude has his own thing, which is rare. Max does Max. The Oww! shit is catchy, “riding the wave” … I will probably never fuck with Max’s music (I’ve only heard a few tracks) but shit, the aura on this dude is on some different ish.

Co-sign, in terms of how they ended up. But as artists?

    G-Dep>>>Craig Mack

Mack was a Diddy’s attempt at making a commercial Redman. Dude got annihilated on his own remix. There’s no recovering from that.

LOL @ me having to explain to one of my homeboys that someone as hood as Omar could be gay….ninjas don’t want to believe it.

***I wonder if he wrote it, himself, because that verse was ridiculous, especially for Mr. “Slim doo doo makers, stuffed in pajamas” (none)—Triumph was all around sick though- the verses, the video, everything was just perfect…

  13. icon (trillbert arenas) Says:

Mack was a Diddy’s attempt at making a commercial Redman

    ***HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

  14. b-ease Says:

In my mind, I always picture Deck laying his verse first, and everybody being in shock for ten minutes. Then, they pick up the pens and start trying to match it. Not top it, cause that would be impossible. But they all sound like they’re trying to maintain the energy.

  15. Joe 88 Says:

    @Icon

Your right, there needs to be balance in everything, but that’s what the internet for, if they only played boring music on the radio, 106, etc, I wouldn’t be mad, cause I got the choice to listen to whatever, whenever so the balance doesn’t start with mainstream with me, it starts with me. And to me, 08′ was a good fucking year

I got a new nature album
    Nas made a classic mixtape
    Gucci mane did his thing
I got down with 2 new artist from NY (ransom & Max B)
Got some new DJ Drama shit

So overall, we make the balance in our own music catalog right?

  16. Mr. Papagiorgio Says:

do you really have the stamina/ for everybody that sees you to say “where’s your camera?”

  17. TheCo!!inB Says:

D-block, you don’t think dude’s got his own lane? I understand not diggin his music, but he does stand out as an individual.

  23. Joe 88 Says:

Word? I didn’t even know dude was still active (none)—For All Seasons was ill, though….

^Yep, & lyrically, he’s bettr than ever, but his beat selection is worst than nas, he did rap over the N.W.A beat tho, which is a good look, but he can’t pick beats for shit, I get better beats than he does, lol

  24. icon (trillbert arenas) Says:

    08 gave us

    Nas Untitled
    Q-Tip’s the Renaissance
    Roots Rising Down
    Wale’s Mixtape About Nothing
    TI Paper Trail
Killer Mike’s Pledge Allegiance to the Grind (which I do not have), plus his unreleased Ghetto Extraordinary album
    Heltah Skeltah’s D.I.R.T.

….plus a whole lot of other shit that maybe I’m not really digging, but I get it- Charles Hamilton, Weezy, Jeezy, 808s, etc…

, you don’t think dude’s got his own lane? I understand not diggin his music, but he does stand out as an individual.
    ^^^
No i don’t, he has his own lane because of some catch phrases and a funny laugh? Because he has catchy hooks? He just another Harlem rapper with kool catch phrases and some “Swag”….I really don’t classify that as having your own lane but thats just me and im also not criticizing niggas for liking him…and also im not a hater if Max comes out with a hit im gonna be just like the next dude in the club bopping my head (no)….i just can’t identify with his music…no shots at anyone who likes his music…he’s rhymes are underwhelming (c) Ease
