Video: Malik 16 – My Block Harlem

I got robbed here, now white boys jog here with no prob, yeah?

This isn’t new, but I’ve been seeing this guy’s name pop up on a few of the sites I frequent, but I only just got around to checking his shit out. I’m posting this because dude weaves a nice story about the neighborhood that spawned him, and actually walks you through it rather than just standing in front of the ‘jects with the goonies looking tough. I’m also a sucker for almost anything NY centric. Watch it or don’t.

Kanye should of kept this going through the surround sound of his house instead of the internet(s) of our lives… i spit on this cd, and i won’t even buy it… it doesn’t deserve to be my weed plate!!!

This is a nice joint. Good luck Es.

I dunno about y’all, but part of the reason I come to Nah, 2dope, and others is because I trust the proprietors’ musical judgment.

I don’t confine my self to one genre of music or a certain form of hip hop for that matter, if it sounds good then im rocking with it (pun intended). Music can be therapeutic, while the lyrics and or flow of a song can by mediocre the beat can be captivating and infectious. It can be interpreted or utilized in different ways. Like Rigz said before music connects with people on different levels according to their personality. Its all subjective.

  11. Charles Oakley Says:

Those Kanye tracks are good, if you don not like them, then it must not be your taste, because they are not bad songs

you’re speaking to someone who highly backed Gnarles Barkley when they first came around and people were saying they were wack… i listen to more then hip hop… i jsut think this album is trash, so far the only songs i like are Amazing and Heartless… everything else has been ass, like serious ass… i believe Kanye’s in pain, because it hurt’s my ears to listen to that shit!!!

I’ll listen to John Mayer if i want something to reflect heartbreak… but kanye, mister “You should appreciate it cause i made it” has made something that will drift away when he comes out with another album where he gets back to his roots… he should of named this album Water Under The Bridge… cause that’s what it’ll be

    @ Darth

I was skeptical, but the theme of the album is consistent, and the melodies are ill. people(like you) are gonna wanna hate.. then its gonna grow on ’em.

    mark that down, homie.

anyway.. personally.. i’m glad Kanye is using his pop stardom for pushing the envelope and doing different things.

It won’t grow on me… i’m very love/hate when it comes to music, if i don’t like it right away, i’ll never like it… i TRIED to like love lockdown, not jokes i would listen to it and jsut cringe… like i said, i like Heartless and Amazing, but the rest keep away before my ears bleed… anyways guys… Gears of War 2 time

  38. G7 Says:

Rigz, i see you knockin’ Busta first album again.

  39. landLORD Says:

word… some people act like if you dont like what they like, you are immediately some kind of hater …

… im a Kanye fan… this “808” shit is trash … niggas saying “well you must listen to only hiophop” … calling Kanye’s experiment “artistic” … SMH … y’all sound like y’all just discouvered music … what kind of art is he creating? … if i fart in front of a fan, and it makes that cool vibrato sound, is that art? … Kanye’s singing is no better … ask a real singer if what Kanye is doing is singing OR artistic … and remember, IM A FAN OF HIS … but honesty rules … Graduation, CDropout, Late Registration were all real good LPs … IMO this shit here (808&HB) sucks … and that seems to be the general consensus … i overstand some of y’all have vested emotional interest in the man, some may even have vested financial interest in ‘Ye… but dont fool yourselves … he needs to stop singing, scrap the LP, and make a RAP lp … cause thats his job … i dont wanna hear Eric Benet rap, and i refuse to listen to ol’ BlockJaw croon earsplitting ditties through autotune …

    … and im a KWest fan …

  40. DUYUkid Says:

for the record… i never used the term hater.

  41. I Fux Says:

I dont give a fuck about Kanye on the personal level and I think College Dropout is a classic. But I have to listen to his album in its entirety to have an idea where he is going with this. That being said I havent completely disliked or liked the ish he has dropped since Love Lockdown. There is alot of ish that I think is hotter right now as far as hip-hop. Now as far as Pop I dont think ish is hotter than Yeezy or T-Pain
